The heart of our mission is to find the amazing souls that breathe life into our communities. In the recent weeks, we’ve had the privilege to connect with some incredible artists, creatives, entrepreneurs and rabble rousers and we can’t begin to express how impressed we are with the incredible group below.

That along with issues on the build of the second van in which the conversion company was little help correcting, dealing with the Texas heat that contributed to generator issues on the vans, having 2 of my 5 dogs pass away in the same time frame, and managing the good and the bad when it came to employees (I have the BEST team now, but man, was it a bumpy ride to the find them), I definitely wanted to throw in the towel more than once. But I’m glad I haven’t – at the end of the day, all of it has been worth it, and I’m doing what I love while supporting my employees and community. Read more>>

Through it all, I held onto one lifelong dream: to become a published author. I made that dream come true with the release of two books — a children’s book and a short horror story — finally giving a home to the stories that lived inside me for so long. Though my journey has been full of unexpected turns, it has always been driven by heart, hope, and an unwavering faith in the power of words to heal, inspire, and transform. Read more>>

I have definitely faced some struggles along the way. I’m a mom of two young kids, I still work a 9-5. Cookie Witch is who I get to be after the kids are in bed and I’m caught up on work. It’s a lot of late nights and early mornings. But the great thing about a busy mom is that we always make it happen and I’ve managed to find ways to approach this business that have helped make it much smoother. Read more>>

I was full steam ahead with websites, network marketing, investing time and money into getting my name out there in the communities we serve, but the collective was not so I had to leave that. Then I rebranded to North Texas Doulas and have been hard on the uphill climb since then. A lot of people in the small community I reside in do not know what a Doula is and the local hospital is not as welcoming to us as say the bigger hospitals in DFW. Just getting my foot in the door with hospitals, the community, midwives, etc is a long term thing that is built on reputation and trust. Read more>>

We began five years ago with a small coffee trailer in downtown (Southtown, la vaca district) , and two years ago we officially opened our coffee house and roastery on Callaghan Road. Having our own roastery gives us full control over quality, allowing us to roast fresh coffee weekly and deliver a premium product not only to our community but also to local coffee shops in San Antonio, Austin, Edinburg, and Laredo, Texas. I began teaching piano to young children in Mexico, but I quickly realized that teaching 4-, 5-, or 6-year-olds traditional piano lessons just didn’t work — at least not for me. The children needed movement, play, and creativity. That realization led me to study different philosophies and methods of teaching music to young children, and eventually, I started a music school in Mexico designed especially for them. Read more>>

Growing up in Boston, Massachusetts, I would sit at my Grandmother’s kitchen table and draw while listening to her talk on the phone. I remember my Grandmother saying “that little boy loves to draw….” I liked the simplicity of drawing, all you need was a pencil and a paper and the possibilities are endless. The subject of the drawing almost took me away from reality. The connection between an idea and using intellect to express the idea onto a canvas is powerful to me. I enjoyed art from a young boy, throughout grade school. Read more>>

In my early career, I came alongside families navigating incredibly hard seasons, helping them access support and resources to strengthen and heal. Casework was deeply meaningful to me. I saw both the heartbreak of cycles repeating and the resilience that made change possible. At the same time, I found myself wanting to sit with people longer, to go deeper, and to use approaches that could help untangle those cycles at the root. That’s what eventually led me to become a therapist. Read more>>

After I graduated high school I was encouraged to start singing and playing gigs by my buddy Jonny Hughes, and after my freshman year at Texas Tech University I just knew I had to get out of Lubbock. I ended up transferring to Texas State University, and I met all of my friends at Cheatham Street Warehouse. I hadn’t really tried songwriting, but my buddy Ashton Naylor told me to write a couple, and come to the songwriter night at Cheatham Street. Ever since then I’ve been writing songs, and playing around town. All the while getting support from my buddies, and supporting them. Read more>>
