Today we’d like to introduce you to Steve Carrera.
Hi Steve, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
I started Mico Auto & Rescue because I wanted to help people the way I’d want my own family helped, especially here in Hill Country area, where being stranded miles from town is all too common. I’ve always been hands-on and mechanical, and as I built relationships with customers, it became more than just a business, it became a family legacy. Every step, every challenge, I learned something new, and that kept us moving forward, always striving to serve our customers and our family with integrity and care.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
The road hasn’t been smooth. When I first opened Triple C’s Car Care in Florida, I had just $400 to my name. But as I grew that business, I realized how much more I valued family and community. That’s when I decided to move to the Hill Country, join my brother, and build a business that kept those family roots strong. It wasn’t easy—there were struggles—but by staying positive, staying involved, and listening to the community, I saw a real need. That’s what led me to pivot and open Mico Auto & Rescue here in West Texas. And from there, we’ve been able to grow and keep serving our community.
We’ve been impressed with Mico Auto & Rescue, but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
You should know that Mico Auto & Rescue is a 24/7 emergency roadside service based in the hill country of West Texas. We specialize in off-road recovery, towing, tire changes, lockouts, battery jumps, battery installations, and even diesel vehicle repairs—something Steve loves as a hobby. What truly sets us apart is that we go beyond just towing—we’re driven by family, care, and a commitment to always put people first.
Can you share something surprising about yourself?
Most people assume I’m just the driver, but once they get to know me, they realize I’m not just moving cars—I own the business, and I have years of experience in auto repair. When it matters most, I help customers understand their options so they can make informed, safe decisions about their vehicles.”
