Today we’d like to introduce you to Thrisha Hamilton.
Thrisha, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
My name is Thrisha. I started in the beauty industry back in 2008 working freelance as a hair and makeup artist for indie designers, and bridal fashion shows. I decided to advance my skills by enrolling in beauty school while in Southern California. I really found my calling as a colorist and I feel I was educated by the industry’s best.
They really set the bar for the type of hair I wanted to do. After graduation, I assisted in some amazing top-rated salons. When my husband retired, we moved back to our hometown of San Antonio. Struggling to find a salon home to really grow in, I felt a calling to open a small salon studio, where like-minded artists could come together and collaborate to service like-minded clients.
That is how Bohemian Bombshell Salon came to what we are today.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Because of my husband’s career in the US Navy, I moved a few times over the years and rebuilt a small but humble clientele where we were stationed. Having to start over each time in a new city or town sometimes weighed heavy on me. But I love what I do, so I never stopped learning and putting my work out on social media.
Moving back home after retirement was my time to plant roots and really focus on building my business. When we opened BBS, I was 5 months pregnant with our fourth daughter in the middle of a global pandemic. I knew this was exactly what I was destined to do.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I am a colorist and salon owner. I specialize in balayage and blonding. Most of my clients are wanting blonding on the spectrum of low maintenance, lived in balayage to extreme intense blonding. I do this in a manner that’s safe for the client’s hair with products that don’t have a huge impact on our earth or body, by using green, vegan, and eco-friendly products.

Bohemian Bombshell Salon has become a local name for all things beauty. We offer hair, skin, and brow services by appointment. I have an amazing team that has really blossomed and grown tremendously over the last year. Jezelle is my oldest daughter and our resident brow artist/fashion vivid colorist, and Marisa our amazing esthetician serves us glowing skin and body waxing.
