Scott, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
Our Story? We started Guadalupe Printing Solutions, or GPS back in 2016 with the belief that we can give our customers the best product with a fair price that they deserve. The two owners Paul and Scott Ford, came from Houston, Texas with over 75 years combined experience in commercial printing. With this knowledge of printing for more commercial style manufacturing. It gave them the opportunity to begin a small footprint in the vast digital printing field that has quickly become the more popular route in getting printing done. Faster, Cheaper and same quality. We are family owned and operated and want to see our company grow to be one of the best printing companies in the Tri County Areas.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
The road is never smooth; we struggled in the early years as far as not having a large customer base, minimum production machines. Also, not a lot of capital. It took hard work and determination to get through the first four years or so, working 24 hours shifts with only four employees. That way we could insure on time delivery and commitment to quicker turnarounds. Covid was a big struggle as it was for many businesses in that year 2020 and carrying over to 2021, The whole country changed as well as the economy, We were making just enough for us to keep our doors open, Lucky enough our customers came through as well the city of Seguin to help us get the proper loans to keep us running. The most recent struggles are the Tariff’s that we are encountering with getting parts for our presses.

\What we specialize the most in is our booklet capabilities. We are one of the only print shops in our area that can create a Square edge fold on a Saddle Stich Booklet (magazine style finish with 2 staples in spine) to give the most professional looking product in the market.
What we are most proud of is our commitment to our community and the many groups that help bring life and love to our city, From the Lulac organization, to the Teatro de artes a Latin-based program teaching history, heritage, and arts, The Seguin Art League, Downtown Business Alliance, Guadalupe County Fair and Rodeo. What matters most to you? Why?
Family, if it wasn’t for our family we wouldn’t have a company, we started this for our future generations. The idea of creating something that would continue on after we are old and gone. For our children and grandchildren to show interest in what we have been so passionate about gives us the feeling of overwhelming joy and appreciation. To know that they would not have to worry about looking for where they will have to look get a good job or worry about them, not having work is the ultimate satisfaction. With our company on the rise again it just helps secure their future in the city and in their lives
