Today we’d like to introduce you to Rebecca Hidalgo.
Rebecca, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
After 17 years in the medical field, I realized I wasn’t living my purpose. I’d chosen that path because I wanted to help people, but sitting behind a cubicle all day wasn’t how I was meant to do it. I’ve never had the stomach to be a doctor or nurse, but I’ve always had the heart for healing.
When I joined a local CrossFit gym, everything changed. I was surrounded by athletes constantly dealing with soreness and pain, and I’d find myself jumping in between workouts to help by massaging tight muscles, easing discomfort, helping them move better. Everyone kept telling me, “You’re really good at this!” And something inside me clicked. That moment reignited a spark I’d buried years ago. See, years before, I’d gone to school for massage therapy, but never pursued it. Back then, massage wasn’t seen as a form of healthcare the way it is today, so I tucked that dream away.
Well… I couldn’t shake that spark, so I prayed and took a HUGE leap of faith. I cashed out my 401K, emptied my savings, and walked away from a secure corporate job to follow a dream that made absolutely no sense on paper, but made perfect sense in my heart. Everyone thought I was crazy, but I told myself, “If I fail, I can always go back. But if I never try, I’ll always wonder what if.”
Truthfully, I had no idea how to run a business. I just knew I was good at helping people feel better and that was enough to start. I trusted my gut, leaned into my faith, and kept showing up. Seven years later, that leap turned into the BEST decision I’ve ever made. My business is thriving, my clients have become like family, and I wake up every single day doing what I love… helping people heal, move better, and feel their absolute best.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Honestly, it’s been a beautiful journey. I truly believe that when you’re walking in your purpose, everything flows the way it’s meant to. Of course, there have been moments of uncertainty… the biggest one being Covid. Like so many others, I had to shut my doors for a while, and it was an unsettling time. None of us knew what was really happening, and safety had to come first.
Many of my clients depend on massage for pain management, so I had people reaching out, desperate for relief, asking if I could come to their homes. But I knew the right thing to do was to wait it out until it was safe for everyone’s health and wellbeing. Once I was finally able to reopen, the support was overwhelming. Clients came flooding back and it reminded me just how vital this work really is.
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I’m a licensed massage therapist with a passion for helping people feel their absolute best! My approach to bodywork goes way beyond relaxation… it’s therapeutic, intentional, and results-driven. I focus on pain management, recovery, and total body wellness through a blend of modalities like deep tissue, sports massage, stretching, fascia blasting, hot stones, cupping therapy, and more.
What I’m most known for is how personalized every single session is. No two massages are ever the same. Each one is customized to fit exactly what your body needs. Whether it’s improving mobility, easing chronic pain, or supporting post-op recovery, I take the time to listen, assess, and adjust.
I also love educating my clients. After each session, I give honest feedback about what I felt in their body and share “homework”… simple stretches, movements, or self-care tips, because what you do at home and what I do in the studio work together to keep your body feeling strong, mobile, and pain-free.
I’m so proud of the thriving business I’ve built and the incredible clients who’ve supported me along the way… many have truly become like family. My passion for continuous learning keeps me growing. I love exploring new tools, techniques, and recovery methods to better serve the people who trust me with their care.
My mission is to empower people to take control of their wellness and truly understand their bodies. Every session is a collaboration built on trust, communication, and intention. I combine skill, intuition, and education to deliver real results while helping clients stay connected to their progress beyond the studio. I believe in raising the standard of bodywork through knowledge, consistency, and care because when you know your body, you can change your life.
Let’s talk about our city – what do you love? What do you not love?
I work right here in the heart of Schertz, Texas and I couldn’t love it more! This city is so community-driven and family-oriented… truly a melting pot of incredible people from all walks of life. You’ve got military families, young couples just starting out, proud new parents, and retirees who’ve happily planted their roots here.
What I love most about Schertz is the way it shows up for its small businesses. There’s such a strong sense of connection, kindness, and genuine care. I’ve called the city, and have always spoken with a real person who actually listens and helps… and that says a lot! You never feel like just another name or number here. You feel part of something special.
My parents live here, I grew up around here, and so many of my clients live within the community. It’s home in every sense of the word… full of familiar faces, warm smiles, and people who look out for each other.
If I had to name one downside, it’s that the city is growing so fast the traffic can get a little wild, but honestly, that just proves how many people are realizing how amazing this community truly is!
