Today we’d like to introduce you to Naalah Pittman.
Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
So, I’ve actually been making music since about 2016, but it wasn’t until the lockdown that made me lockdown. literally.
Get it? Haha, no but seriously. Being locked in the house forced me to make music because there was nothing else to do. From that, I worked on my first EP “Even when I’m tired”. I dropped it & things kinda just took off from there.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Has it been a smooth road? Babe, hell no! The ride has been bumpy. There are lots of hills, lots of potholes, and lots of speed bumps. This road has been shaky, but that’s what makes it all worth it. There are definitely highs, just as there are lows. I make sure to sit in each equally because sitting in one more than the other creates an imbalance.
As far as the struggles, I mean, there are plenty. Sometimes it can be the littlest thing. For example, I struggle with actually completing a song. I mix and master and lay all my own music, so taking on the entire load can become overwhelming.
I’ll sit and work on a song for 2 hours and because it’s on repeat continuously I have to step away from it & sometimes stepping away means not going back to it for months.
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I am Naalah & I create frequencies you can feel. Seriously though, to label me is somewhat restricting but, in easier terms- I am an artist, singer, songwriter, lyricist, guitarist & entertainer.
I make music that cannot be duplicated because my lyrics are a part of me & my music is my perception. That’s what sets me apart, you hear my music & you know it’s me! It’s so unique & unlike anyone else’s. That’s how I wish to keep it. If I’m doing me in my songs, no one can replicate it.
So, I’m always living in my truth, especially with my music.
Is there anything else you’d like to share with our readers?
I’ve got new music on the way, be patient with me as greatness doesn’t happen overnight.
