Today we’d like to introduce you to Jonathan Blum.
Hi Jonathan, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
I got my start with watching YouTube videos nonstop because I was so addicted to that media. Whether it was Summer Montages of Jay Alvarez or watching music videos of my favorite Artist, I loved the visual aspect of that entertainment. My friend Arturo started making videos on YouTube and that gave me the idea to work on my own projects because he was so successful.
I started making Music Videos for my friends from high school and then kept learning and growing to work with Top Artists in San Antonio like ‘CWill’ and ‘Jefe’ with them introducing me to a bigger market. I soon realized that it wasn’t sustainable to make a lot of money from doing music videos and wanted a returning base of income every month. My friend Seth gave me the idea to start working on Real Estate Photography and from then I have been trying to learn as much as possible through Researching my market.
I started in the middle of 2021 and have been working to continue making my brand and my photography and videography better! I have a good model to work off of now so I am looking to expand my business in other locations in Texas and make Real Estate Photography an easier process for Realtors.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
There have been many challenges along the way. It was very hard to reach my first couple of clients because I had no experience in Real Estate and most people don’t really want to work with you professionally if you aren’t in the business for a while. Even when I tried offering my services for free people would rather pay other companies to get the job right.
I needed a portfolio so Realtors would trust me, my Coach from hockey ‘Coach Jessie’ let me take some pictures of his really nice house. I also asked the Realtor that my parents used to work with that we were close with and she let me work on some jobs and try out my drone work.
After I had that portfolio I had more challenges of making a website, investing in some equipment, pricing, and finding new ways to innovate to separate my business from others.
Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
Blum Productions specializes in Real Estate Photography and other Media. We have been able to branch out and work with clients individually to make them social media content. We have also had the pleasure of working with EXP Realty on a Social Media Promotion.
I am getting a lot of recognition from my 360 Virtual Tours as we have the best price for the quality that other companies would not. I am most proud of the success that we have been able to accomplish in such a short amount of time.
What are your plans for the future?
My plans for the future are growing my team and having more work in San Antonio so we can repeat the same model all the way to Austin! I want to give members of my organization the opportunity to make a name for themselves so they can work with professionals and other creatives.
I love the media space and want to eventually work on bigger projects. I want Blum Productions to be a top company in Texas that you go to promote your business with so you can continue making your business thrive!
