Today we’d like to introduce you to Elizabeth Adams.
Hi Elizabeth, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
My business actually started during one of the hardest times of my life. Six years ago I was in a really dark place- so much so that considered ending my life. With the love and help from my husband and mom, I got help and checked myself into a hospital . Recovery wasn’t instant, it took a lot of hard work. I joined an intensive outpatient program where I went to for three hours a day for a month. Thats when everything started to shift. Our therapist encouraged us to start a hobby- something small to focus on and enjoy. I chose working with polymer clay without knowing it would turn into something much bigger. What began as a therapeutic outlet slowly turned into a passion, and eventually Made. Bleu. My story isnt just about fun colorful jewelry, its a celebration of healing, growth, and second chances.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Definitely not a smooth road. There has been a lot of high moments and really tough ones. I run this small business entirely on my own and wearing all the hats can be tiring. There are times when I feel overwhelmed or feel like Im not keeping up with the trends. Those moments are short lived though. I am incredibly grateful that I can take a break when needed.
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I am a polymer clay jewelry artist. I would say im known for my bright colors. I hand mix 90% of all my colors. I am proud that I turned something painful into something purposeful. Not only does my small business support my family but it also brings joy to others. What sets me apart from others is the heart behind it. They are made by someone who knows what its like to fight for a better day. Everything is truly handmade with care and soul.
Are there any books, apps, podcasts or blogs that help you do your best?
I’m always creating with something on in the background-weather its a Marc Maron/s podcast, Bravo shows, or music, I need that constant stream to keep the energy flowing and the ideas moving.
