Today we’d like to introduce you to Daniela Fraga.
Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
I was born in Venezuela and studied law before moving to the United States at a very young age. I’ve now been here for almost 10 years, and throughout that time I’ve built strong experience in marketing and business.
I’m also a wife and mother of two, and after settling in Austin, Texas about five years ago, I founded Kaluh Rentals. What started as a desire to create something special for my son’s celebrations quickly turned into identifying a gap in the market and I took the opportunity to build something different.
Today, nearly four years later, it has grown into a business that reflects not just creativity, but resilience and passion. Like many entrepreneurial journeys, it hasn’t been linear, but every step has strengthened our vision. It’s more than a business, it’s something we’ve built with purpose as a family.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It hasn’t been a completely smooth road. Like most entrepreneurs, there have been real challenges, especially balancing motherhood with building a business from the ground up.
As a full-time mom of two and a business owner, time has definitely been one of my biggest challenges. There are seasons where everything feels demanding at once, and I’ve had to learn how to be very intentional with my time and energy.
But I’ve also learned to adapt and stay committed. Even during pauses (like my second pregnancy) I always came back with more clarity and motivation. Those challenges have actually shaped me, made me more disciplined, and stronger in how I run my business today.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
Kaluh Rentals is a soft play rental business that specializes in creating immersive play experiences for children, things like ball pits, bounce houses, and curated soft play setups.
What we do is essentially bring the indoor playground experience to you, whether it’s in your backyard, at a park, or at a special venue. The idea came from wanting to give families access to that same joyful space kids love, but in a more personal, convenient, and memorable way.
What really sets us apart is our focus on customization. We don’t believe in one-size-fits-all packages. Instead, we work closely with our clients to design setups that reflect their vision, their style, and their event, so each experience feels unique and intentional.
What I’m most proud of is being able to turn something that started as a personal idea for my own children into a brand that now creates meaningful memories for so many families. It’s not just rentals for us, it’s about experience, creativity, and detail.
Can you share something surprising about yourself?
Something that might surprise people is that I actually had no background in this industry at all. I studied law and never imagined I would end up running a business like this.
This wasn’t a planned career path, it really started from a personal idea and grew organically from there. Over time, I’ve had to learn everything from the ground up, from operations to marketing to building a brand.
In a way, it’s been a complete shift from what I originally envisioned for my life, but I’m genuinely grateful for the direction it has taken me. It’s taught me to adapt, grow, and trust opportunities even when they don’t look like what I expected.
