Rising Stars: Meet Christie Marie of Corpus Christi, Texas

Today we’d like to introduce you to Christie Marie.

Christie, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
My blogging journey started from a genuine love for food and travel. I’ve always been the person in my friend group who researches where to eat, what hidden spots are worth checking out, and how to make the most of any city I visit. What started as casually sharing restaurant finds and travel tips on Instagram eventually grew into something much bigger.
Over time, I realized that people were really connecting with the way I shared stories—not just about the food, but the experience behind it. That’s when I leaned into blogging more intentionally, combining short-form videos with storytelling and honest reviews. I started collaborating with local businesses, covering events, and exploring everything from hole-in-the-wall diners to boutique hotels.
Today, I’m proud to say I’ve built a loyal community of fellow foodies and travel lovers. I was even honored to be named Best Social Media Influencer by the American Advertising Federation Coastal Bend, which was such a validating moment. Now, I’m expanding into YouTube and long-form content, diving deeper into storytelling while still keeping that fun, relatable vibe that got me started.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Definitely not a smooth road—but that’s part of what’s made the journey so meaningful.
One of the biggest challenges was simply getting started. Like many creators, I dealt with imposter syndrome early on—wondering if my content was good enough, or if anyone would even care. There were also times I felt burnt out from trying to keep up with social media trends while balancing real life, especially since content creation isn’t always as effortless as it looks.
But through it all, I’ve stayed committed to creating content that’s real, helpful, and engaging. Every setback taught me something—and every challenge has made me stronger as a creator.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I’m a food and travel blogger who creates content that blends storytelling with real experiences—from exploring hidden gem restaurants to showcasing unique stays like boutique hotels and Airbnbs. I specialize in visual storytelling through short-form videos and YouTube content, with a focus on capturing not just what something looks like, but how it feels to be there.

I’m probably best known for making my audience feel like they’re right there with me—whether I’m tasting something new, checking out a quirky roadside spot, or sharing behind-the-scenes moments. I keep it honest, engaging, and always rooted in curiosity and connection.

One of the things I’m most proud of is being recognized as Best Social Media Influencer by the American Advertising Federation Coastal Bend. That award reminded me that staying true to your voice and building trust with your audience really does matter.

What sets me apart is that I don’t just show the “perfect shot”—I focus on the full experience. I mix relatable storytelling with quality visuals and SEO-savvy strategy, so my content not only entertains but also helps people discover places they might have overlooked. My goal is always to inspire people to stay curious, try new things, and find joy in the journey. Of course, highlighted restaurants, businesses, and other fun activities.

Do you any memories from childhood that you can share with us?
One of my favorite childhood memories is sitting around the table with my family during big holiday meals, especially during Filipino gatherings. The house would be filled with the smell of home-cooked dishes like lumpia, pancit, and leche flan. Everyone talked over each other, kids ran around, and there was always laughter—and karaoke in the background, of course.
What made those moments so special wasn’t just the food (though it was amazing), but the feeling of togetherness. That sense of joy and connection through food is something that’s stuck with me—and honestly, it’s a big reason why I became a food and travel blogger in the first place. I’ve always believed food is more than just a meal—it’s a memory, a story, and a way to bring people together.
