Rising Stars: Meet Brandon & Marquette Lowe

Today we’d like to introduce you to Brandon & Marquette Lowe.

Hi Brandon & Marquette, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
We started in Austin, Texas as far as the origin of what we’ve become & created as of today. Work and school brought our talents to San Antonio eventually. Growing up, we were already heavily into fashion & sneakers. In our opinion, that is where the idea, taste level, vision, and execution evolved from an origin standpoint.

We always knew we wanted a storefront, but kept feeling the timing wasn’t right. Eager to get our idea off the ground we decided to open a small online boutique to give the community a chance to see our products come to life. After trial and error, the online shop had a lot of success after months of having little to no orders. After some grass-root marketing, we begin to capture more celebrity influences & catapulted our business to the next level.

We then changed our name from what was then Prized Possessions to Gold Diamonds Boutique, the name was easier to remember and relatable as well but not to be confused with jewelry. Gold is the standard for all currency and diamonds are a woman’s best friend & we feel our custom sneakers & clothes provide those elements in life.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way? Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
No, it has not always been a smooth road. Marketing is a lot more challenging than one may assume. You truly have to do your homework, and really work to understand the demands of your customers.

As we reached the peak of our business career we were hit by the pandemic. For nearly 2 months, we were forced to close the doors to our storefront. With only the online store open we felt back in square 1. We had to learn new ways to market and keep people engaged.

Overall the challenges made us more successful, they pushed us to put our thinking caps back on, and create more personalized products which have become our number 1 sellers.

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
Though clothing opened our doors, our custom work has become our passion. We specialize in custom creations and are known specifically for our custom shoes. Whether it’s upcycled fabrics or colored patterns we are able to bring your idea to life.

We take pride in our work, are extreme perfectionists, and will not release any work we are not proud of. We set the bar high and truly listen to our customer’s vision, capturing every detail. What you ask for is really what you get with Gold Diamonds, not only are we the only custom sneaker boutique in San Antonio but I believe we are the first, especially at this level.

Everything is made to order and gets the approval stamp by the customer before the final release. We guarantee high quality and longevity with all of our work. All items are hand crafted and have our personal time put into them.

Can you talk to us about how you think about risk?
Opening our storefront was the biggest risk we’ve taken. At this time, we knew our passion but did not know how the San Antonio community would interact with our ideas.

It’s very hard when you’re the first of its kind type of business, but we did it! We truly believe no success comes without risk. The road has not always been glamorous, but to actually achieve you have to be willing to lose a little along the way.

Of course in our opinion the risk you take should be calculated, and well thought out, but overall lay your foundation. You never really know if something will 100% work out, but you take the chance. We’re firm believers that if you never quit, you never fail.
