Meet Tiffany Edwards of T.C. Fitness

Today we’d like to introduce you to Tiffany Edwards

Hi Tiffany, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
Movement has always been a part of my life. I spent a decade playing tennis, finishing my career as an NCAA athlete while earning my degree in Elementary Education at St. Mary’s University in San Antonio.

After graduation, I explored different areas of the health and fitness industry, working alongside doctors, dietitians, and trainers in California, Texas, and Louisiana. With each experience, my passion for helping others build healthier, more sustainable lifestyles grew stronger.

Now, the owner of T.C. Fitness, a Certified Personal Trainer, Fitness Nutrition Specialist, and Yoga Teacher, I’m committed to making wellness accessible, enjoyable, and sustainable.

That’s why in 2018, we launched our Guilt-Free Sunday Funday series, now known as a Sip & Sweat. These one-of-a-kind events blend fitness, fun, and community in a non-traditional atmosphere. From themed workouts to post-sweat drinks, the goal is to show that prioritizing wellness doesn’t mean sacrificing enjoyment or connection.

Whether through training, yoga, or a Sip & Sweat, I’m here to help you take charge of your health in a way that seamlessly fits into your lifestyle.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It hasn’t always been a smooth road, but we continue to adapt and evolve. We got off to a great start, partnering with local small businesses and even having the opportunity to collaborate with the San Antonio Spurs before COVID hit. The momentum was building, but the pandemic definitely disrupted our plans. Instead of letting that stop us, we pivoted quickly by moving our workouts to outdoor venues, masking up as needed, and practicing social distancing. This allowed us to keep providing activities for our community that supported their mental and physical health during such a challenging time.

By the summer of 2022, we returned to our regular events, utilizing both indoor and outdoor spaces. In 2023, we took another step forward by hosting Sip & Sweat events year-round, expanding beyond just the summer. And in 2024, we introduced our Sip & Sweat: Yoga Edition, adding a fresh, new vibe to our event series.

It’s been a journey, but the growth and the ability to stay connected with our community has been incredibly rewarding.

Great, so let’s talk business. Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
At T.C. Fitness, we support marginalized communities, where obesity rates are higher, and preventable, chronic diseases are more prevalent. Since 2015, we’ve been helping these communities improve their quality of life through proper nutrition and consistent exercise.

What sets us apart is our focus on helping people prioritize their health in a way that fits their lifestyle. We show that healthy habits can seamlessly integrate with different family structures, cultures, and everyday routines.

Through one-on-one training, nutritional support, and an online community, we create a safe space for our clients to grow and lead healthier lives.

Our goal is to ensure that future generations don’t face the same health challenges many of us do today. We’re proud of the inclusive, empowering environment we’ve created, where people can take charge of their health and embrace wellness on their own terms.

Can you talk to us about how you think about risk?
I’ve never really thought of myself as much of a risk-taker. I’m someone who tends to be very calculated, weighing out all the pros and cons before making decisions. But I don’t think you can be an entrepreneur without embracing some form of risk.

As if being an entrepreneur isn’t enough: I’m also a woman, a Black woman, a Mexican-American woman, and I’m building a business in a historically male-dominated industry.

Yet here I am, almost 10 years into owning T.C. Fitness, still forging my own path. I provide a service that focuses on the fundamentals and doesn’t push the latest trends or promote the newest ruse found in the health and fitness world. I’ve also navigated the challenges of a global pandemic that impacted us in ways we’re still processing, both as a business and on a personal level in terms of our mental, physical, and emotional health.

So, while I may not consider myself an inherent risk-taker, I have certainly embraced risks in ways that have shaped and strengthened my journey.
