Today we’d like to introduce you to Taylor Pritchard.
Hi Taylor, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
After a knee injury during my senior year of college from playing soccer, I started working at a clothing boutique. A big part of my job was modeling for photoshoots to advertise the clothing, which is actually where I was first introduced to spray tanning. I was immediately hooked! I loved how quickly you could get such a beautiful, bronzed glow.
After getting probably 15 spray tans myself, one of my coworkers and I decided to invest in our own equipment and learn how to spray each other. We loved it, and before we knew it, our friends were asking us to spray them too. That’s when we decided to turn it into a little mobile spray tanning business.
We started in College Station, Texas in March of 2019, charging just $10 a tan. What started as something fun on the side quickly grew into a real clientele.
After graduating college, we went our separate ways with the business, and that’s when Tans by Taylor LLC was born. Since then, I’ve had the opportunity to spray thousands of clients and grow Tans by Taylor into so much more than I ever imagined.
Today, Tans by Taylor offers professional spray tans, self-tanning skincare products, merchandise, clothing, and now one of my favorite parts of the business spray tan trainings.
Being able to take everything I’ve learned over the years and teach other women how to confidently spray tan and build a business of their own has been such a full-circle moment. What started with a $10 spray tan in a college town has turned into something I’m incredibly proud of. 🤍
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It has not always been a smooth road when I first started out the first four months of Tanning in San Antonio. I had zero clients. I ended up giving up for a few months after that before my mom encouraged me to start Tanning again. I’m so thankful she did because I would never be where I am today without her encouragement.

Tans by Taylor specializes in custom airbrush spray tans using violet and olive undertone solutions to create a natural, bronzed glow, never orange.
Do you have any memories from childhood that you can share with us?
Growing up in Hawaii, we lived there for 8 years and every Sunday night we would walk on the beach and pick up sea glass and watch the sunset. Core memory for sure!!
