Meet Stephanie Arroyo of South Texas Home Rehab

Today we’d like to introduce you to Stephanie Arroyo.

Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
South Texas Home Rehab began in 2014 as a collaboration between my husband and me. I am a speech-language pathologist, and he is a physical therapist. Our combined work experiences inspired us to want to start a business together that we could grow while we raised our three young children. We both had worked in the home health setting previously and liked the idea of connecting with local agencies and our peers to fill gaps in quality patient care. We started South Texas Home Rehab with a few therapy partners and grew from there to over 100 contract employees.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Back in 2014, we started small so we could learn as we went and avoid major mistakes. At the time, our education focused on healthcare, and we needed knowledge about starting and running a successful business. Little by little, we acquired that knowledge through hands-on experience. Trial and error taught us quickly the best practices for our specific business area. We also learned that healthcare is an ever-changing field, and staying current with updates is a necessity. This journey of entrepreneurship also motivated me to pursue my Doctorate of Business Administration. Earning my doctoral degree had always been a dream, but South Texas Home Rehab gave me the push and momentum to achieve that goal!

Appreciate you sharing that. What should we know about South Texas Home Rehab?
