Meet Nicole Valorie of Downtown San Antonio

Today we’d like to introduce you to Nicole Valorie.

Hi Nicole, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
Growing up in a military family, moving place to place, and finding how to define myself as a mixed woman. Graduating college from the University of New Mexico with a Bachelor in Human Resources & Business Administration in 2020. Moving to Texas in 2022 to grow my career, from Manager at Starbucks all throughout college and then working for the government as a Financial Analyst for the Air Force.

After attending a model call as a bystander, Sierra Parker approached me and asked, “Why are you not modeling?” It was a quick wrap after that going from a conversation to a month later being in 2 fashion shows, model for a brand commercial and became a brand ambassador.

After a short year and half I have discovered the love for the fashion community and people passionate about the community. While modeling, building my career and becoming the Managing Director for K.Simone’s Boutique it has been an amazing journey getting to this point to be featured in a magazine.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Of course nothing is a smooth road, growing up trying to find my place while not fitting perfectly into one specific group. In the fashion world finding your place is even harder and heightened. Creating my own brand in this community can be hard but with the right mindset and great support system it’ll be an easier transition. I definitely had a moment where I thought the modeling thing wasn’t for me then having a sit down with my mentor, she woke me up and made me realize how silly it would be only after 6 months, now I’m here grown and flourishing in my own space.

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
My day job I work as a government employee as a Financial Analyst for Foreign Military Education.

Off work I’m a model, I do commercial, runway and print work. I’ve modeled for almost 2 years now and have been in 2 commercials, almost 20 fashion shows to include Texas Fashion Week and New York Fashion Week and recently became the Managing Director for K.Simone’s Boutique.

I’m so proud of my balance between the 2, I love fashion and of course I get to be passionate while I’m at work and get to express it outwardly.

I think what sets me apart is you don’t see a young racially ambiguous woman as myself balance it all between my career and thrive in the modeling world in such a short period of time.

Is there something surprising that you feel even people who know you might not know about?
Everyone gets so shocked that I am 28 and that I don’t model full time but my career is working as a government employee. I think they are shocked due to many people focusing strictly on modeling and acting.

I started working at 16 and was born into a military family and graduated high school overseas in Suffolk, England. The fashion started then in the UK the shopping addiction started and when I was represented as Youth of Year in 2014 & 2015. That was more pageant style and new it wasn’t so much for me but was asking to be represent fashion lines and model. I wasn’t as confident then and now I find myself right in the middle of it all.
