Today we’d like to introduce you to Nelly Villarreal.
Hi Nelly, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for sharing your story with us – to start, maybe you can share some of your backstories with our readers.
I started when Covid decided to settle in, and we were limited to work and stuck inside. I am a dental assistant and have been practicing for 14 years with my dentist. He started laser treatments, and from there, I decided to continue my education to learn more about laser, skin, and anything that would evolve during that time. Personal care was something everyone still needed to take care of and maintain. I continued my studies to be an esthetician, graduated, got my license, and now practice out of the dental office consulting for laser treatments and making skin glow!
You wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle-free, but so far would you say the journey has been smooth?
The school was there to teach the basics, and I am still learning as I go, not letting anything stop me. This has been challenging; learning the ropes of being a boss and making your moves can be pretty scary, with no direction coming out of school to run a business. For every bump in the road, I always see it as a lesson learned.
Thanks – so, what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
Working alongside my dentist has always set me apart from others; Estheticians in a dental office are starting to be the new norm! I perform facials and consult for laser treatment to full body waxing. I can bleach teeth and even add a pop of bling to your teeth; mostly proud of seeing the glow and smile when they leave my chair. That’s always been my #1 goal.
Do you have any advice for those just starting?
Advice for others is don’t stop even when you feel you aren’t getting somewhere. Keep pushing. You will genuinely see your hard work in the long run, making you appreciate that much more.
