Meet Mehgan Iman-DLux

Today we’d like to introduce you to Mehgan Iman-DLux.

Hi Mehgan, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
I started drag 5 1/2 years ago, my first experience with drag was watching Drag Race, my second was seeing TENCHA La Jefa (scary). Shortly after I started to do drag which led me to a local competition drag me to fame Which I won back in 2019. Winning that competition started my career I have been able to travel and perform all over Texas as well as a couple of places outside of Texas. And I am currently a full-time drag queen and I am still working with Rey Lopez entertainment and I am now the host of drag me to fame as well as being a part of one of the best drag brunch in the nation at Paramour. And I’m just looking forward to continuous growth

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
It has not always been a smooth road drag is definitely a venture that you will go on where you would definitely run into some kind of drama rather be a little or big. I have definitely had my fair share of drama but I am lucky enough to know how to avoid that aspect of this profession.

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I would probably be most known for my dancing abilities but I also have ventured into sewing for other people I have a thriving pod business (where I make pads for other drag queens). I am extremely proud that I was Able to pave way for myself as fast as I did with no help because for other people it doesn’t come as easy, especially in this industry.

Can you talk to us about how you think about risk?
I do feel it is very important to always take risks sometimes it will pay off sometimes it won’t but when it does pay off you will realize that it might be something that you have always been capable of doing or something that you found you like a lot and you want to continue doing.

I am a big supporter of Mehgan. I recommend anyone reading to catch a show of hers at least once, with a PROMISE she will leave you wanting to come back for more. She will be competing for the prestigious tittle of Miss Gay San Antonio USofA on June 22, 2022 at Woodlawn Theatre. I am very proud of her accomplishments and makes me more proud that y’all featured her in this article, it is well deserving!
