Today we’d like to introduce you to Joshua Amezquita.
Joshua, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
My story started as a fireman. I was a Lieutenant at the Canyon Lake Fire Department. I always said that the fire department finished raising me, starting at the ripe age of 19. Much of what I learned from the service has helped me to successfully run a business.
I left the fire department this year to focus solely on the business. I have always had a passion for the outdoors and people. Starting a business surrounded by both has been a blessing. I enjoy collaboration, understanding vision, and seeing it through.
We are a small team that works closely with landowners, builders, and developers. Keeping the company somewhat small allows the quality and final product to remain consistent. Collaboration, communication, and respect is what we aim for during every project.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall, and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
There are new challenges from project to project, but having a great team has minimized any speed bumps.
We’ve been impressed with Alpha Land Services, but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
We are a professional land clearing business. We specialize in land clearing, land development, site preparation, and forestry mulching. What sets us apart is the way we closely work with and collaborate with property owners. We truly want to understand the vision of the property owners and execute accordingly.
I am proud of each relationship that is established through our business. From landowners to builders, we are grateful for each project that we have been a part of. Collaboration is the main focus of every interaction we have with our clients. When working with Alpha Land services, we focus on your goals.
Networking and finding a mentor can have such a positive impact on one’s life and career. Any advice?
I have always had different types of mentors. Mentors from a distance, people like Gary Vaynerchuk, Jordan Peterson, Napoleon Hill, and Les Brown. Mentors that educate, which would-be business owners that I have met and have had meetings with.
And lastly, mentors that inspire. People that I call my hall of fame team. People that if I was inducted into a hall of fame, I would personally thank and recognize for the contributions they have had in my life.
My advice to find mentors would be, to not think of a mentor in a traditional sense but to look all over through all interactions as mentorship.
