Today we’d like to introduce you to Jeremiah Burns.
Hi Jeremiah, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
After searching for my next path in life, I landed on a PB&J restaurant and wanted to do something in the city and in my life that has never been done. I wanted to establish something in the city I grew up in, that became a staple in this town. I wanted to establish a one off concept that encompassed childhood nostalgia and family values. Our motto is “made with love, served with kindness” and I truly believe if you do anything with these values it will succeed!
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
We opened October of 2019, 5 months before Covid and the challenges of small business is nothing compared to the challenges Covid brought. Working with the city, permits, licensing, vendors, are all obstacles but staying open during a time when everything was shut down was the biggest learning experience and the thing that gave me the most resilience as a business owner.
Great, so let’s talk business. Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
We are the ONLY gourmet peanut butter and jelly restaurant in Texas. Named after my daughter Taylynn and my wife Taylor, we’ve established a strong following based on kindness and love for the community I grew up in. As we approach 6 years, we’ve established a 5 star rating in Google and yelp for exceptional service and unique menu.
Are there any important lessons you’ve learned that you can share with us?
Don’t be scared of change and understand that mindset and prayer are the first step in creating a life you always wanted and a path that’s just for you!
