Hi Esther, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
It all started with me doing lashes on myself. My best friends loved my lashes and kept encouraging me to start practicing on them and doing their lashes so I could start a business. I was shy and could have communicated better with people. I always said no to the idea. I couldn’t start a business or even do their lashes; I didn’t believe in myself. I couldn’t bear the responsibility if anything happened to anyone’s eyes. It took about 3 months for my friends to convince me to start practicing on my friends. When I started practicing with my friends, I started believing in myself. I had faith that I could do it for others. I was ready. I gained my first client, and upon that, I took my first lash class and earned my first certificate. I trusted myself even more, to have a business and create a business page named thesecretlashfairy. If it weren’t for my friends, Joanne, Amaris, Jolene, & Morenike, I would not have been where I am today.
Can you talk to us about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned? Looking back, has it been easy or smooth in retrospect?
It has not been a smooth ride. Trying to gain clientele was the hardest thing I struggled with. Getting the word out there people trusted a new beginner Lash tech was difficult.
