Hi Elizabeth, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today.
Texas Emerging Leaders began at the tail end of the pandemic in November 2020 by hosting a networking mixer at Sylver Spoon Dinner Theater north on I-35. From there, the organization began to grow rapidly as most organizations were not meeting publicly until late Spring 2021. Texas Emerging Leaders began signing up Founding Members and Business Members, which grew at a rate of 1,950% year-over-year. Our growth can be attributed to our robust offering of events and programs which provide the community an alternative to traditional membership organization structures, as our focus is on the success of ALL members. Today, we consider ourselves a statewide (Texas) Chamber of Commerce organized and operated to promote and advance Texas’s business climate and economic well-being. We provide educational, leadership development, advocacy, and business networking opportunities focused on developing tomorrow’s leaders throughout Texas. We are OPEN to all business and professional persons in Texas, and we invite you to join us at our next event.
You wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle-free, but so far would you say the journey has been smooth?
A key to innovation is the disruption of doing things “the way we always have.” Thus, we have faced various unique challenges in various forms. The four key elements of innovation are collaboration, creativity, implementation, and value creation. Therefore, we continue to overcome obstacles by focusing on what we are doing internally rather than being concerned with what others are doing or the challenges presented along the way. Our roadmap to success is evident in the success of our members – and their experience with the organization – put: You don’t have to take our word for it! Just ask our members.

What was you like growing up?
I grew up as your typical country girl in the rural Midwest. I had a passion for baking the swim team and was the yearbook editor during my junior and senior years of High School. I’ve always had a passion for showcasing others and helping them be successful, which is probably why I was involved with the yearbook and have now translated some of that experience into what I am doing as the Executive Director at Texas Emerging Leaders.
