Today we’d like to introduce you to Claudia Martinez.
Hi Claudia, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
I went to cosmetology in 2016, joined a salon in 2017, did my first updo for prom with little training (took me 2 hours from start to finish). I realized that I had potential.
I started learning at my first salon job with someone that had been in the industry since 79’ and then joined the Renee Marie online academy for bridal hairstyling along with some in person classes like Joss Payán Hair academy.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Covid and my family have definitely determined the direction my career took…
I came into this industry thinking that I only wanted to do color but found a special interest in retro/ vintage hair….
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I’m a wedding hairstylist and currently training with bridal makeup.
I pride myself on long lasting beautiful waves whether it’s Hollywood waves or half up half down textures styles. It’s what brides show me as inspiration when they reach out for services.
I try my best to make it a point to let people from the LGBTQ+ community know that I am a safe space for their important day.
Before we go, is there anything else you can share with us?
I am here for quality hair not quantity.
