Meet Angela Cornacchio

Today we’d like to introduce you to Angela Cornacchio.

Alright, thank you for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, how did you get started?
BelGioco Media has been budding since I was eight years old. I was allowed to win horse riding lessons by either drawing a picture of a horse or writing a story. I authored a story and won. I believe I did, being I was the only kid who wrote, not drawing! That same year, computer class started, and I took a right to it. The teacher asked me, “how did you do that?” Being a writer and communications manager is the basis of my business. My years as a soccer player, restaurateur, and fashion industry professional have brought me to where I am today.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall, and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
A successful road is never a smooth path. My struggles began early with my parents not in my life by age 11. Food and shelter were basics I would stress about having. With that kind of worry, it was even more challenging to focus on training as an athlete, trying to focus on my studies, and still, to this day, trying to build a business. To this day, I struggle even with now-acquired food allergies. I can finally have consistent meals in my life, and my body cannot take it in. I love dairy, but I drink oat milk and feel blessed to see it in my refrigerator. Life is always a struggle. It’s all how you go about it.

Thanks – so, what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I am most well known for being a fashion show review writer. I am honored to be named BFA Boston’s Best Publication in 2020 and 2021. I am proud of my book publication in 2020, “Scene&Style The Boston Fashion Week Edition.” It was a collection of columns from shows ranging from 2012-2019. It was the year of the pandemic, and Boston Fashion Week was online. Not ideal, yet I was very proud to be able to contribute to our fashion community with a book dedicated to our designers.

Is there anyone you’d like to thank or give credit to?
There are so many that have contributed to my success! I have coaches, a mentor at the girl’s inc. that will always have a particular spot in my life, friends, Frank DePasquale, bosses, and many more. One specific is my muse, Fashion Designer Denise Hajjar. I had just returned home from injury from playing professional soccer in Italy. I began writing a social column for a local neighborhood newspaper in Boston, Ma. My editor suggested I see a local fashion designer. It is Boston Fashion Week and my first major fashion show. I giggle with Denise today about how “stern” is the subtle way to put it that she was with me. It was about showtime, and I couldn’t have been more pleased to of been pushed into a corner of the grand ball area and offered standing room. As the models swept down the runway, I was overwhelmed with emotion. The beauty of the women, the grace of the gowns, and the entire production overwhelmed me with tears. It was one of the most magnificent things I had ever seen. After I had written her review, I began to receive invites to attend as press. As the years continued, she was my written pride and joy. Eventually, she approached me and asked, “what can you do for my business?” I had insight into web design and social media and did all I could to explain that professionally. When I was speechless, the famed Denise Hajjar looked at me as an industry equal. Denise became a client, and we grew together. My media business began, and she transitioned her fashion collection to having current brand awareness. Denise was always honest with me, there for me through challenging times is still calling with ideas on how I can grow. In my eyes, she started as a superstar and grew into a mentor and family. I will never be able to express the amount of credit the Timeless and Elegant Denise Hajjar deserves.
