Meet Alvaro Del Norte

Today we’d like to introduce you to Alvaro Del Norte.

Hi Alvaro, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
When not touring, the members of Piñata Protest can be found playing locally as Los Callejeros de San Anto.

Los Callejeros (The Street Boys) covers the classic country, conjunto, Tejano, cumbia, and blues songs that helped define “The San Antonio sound” as a way to preserve the musical culture unique to San Antonio. Many of the band’s songs are from local San Antonio musicians who had popular hits and helped define their respective genres.

The band has performed at all sorts of festivals and events around Texas including The San Antonio Stock Show and Rodeo, Tejano Fan Fair, Official Fiesta events, and the Conjunto Tejano Festival.

I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle-free, but so far would you say the journey has been a fairly smooth road?
Overall, the band has enjoyed a growing reception around Texas.

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
We are proud to be carrying on the legacy of the music that was made by musicals in San Antonio.

We believe San Antonio is a city bursting with wonderful culture, history, and people.

Are there any important lessons you’ve learned that you can share with us?
Do everything with passion and love. People will notice.
