Meet Alexandra Ramirez of Little Mamas Treats

Today we’d like to introduce you to Alexandra Ramirez.

Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
My cookie journey really began when my mom would take communion to people who were homebound. During those visits, she became friends with a wonderful woman who would always bake and decorate cookies for her. I was instantly fascinated by the creativity behind cookie decorating, and that’s where my interest first began.

I’ve loved baking for as long as I can remember, and I’ve always been drawn to arts and crafts. So, combining the two felt like the perfect fit. What could be better than creating edible art that not only looks beautiful but also brings joy to others?

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Owning a small business is definitely not easy. Although it comes with many amazing perks, there have also been plenty of obstacles along the way.

One of the biggest challenges for me has been stepping outside of my comfort zone! If you know me at all , you know I’m naturally a VERY shy person, so putting myself and my work out there hasn’t always been easy. From sharing my creations, talking with customers, and showing the person behind the business, it has pushed me to grow in ways I never expected.

But every order, every kind message, and every person who supports my small business reminds me why I started. I’m so grateful for this journey and excited for everything still to come!

Great, so let’s talk business. Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I like to call myself a custom edible art artist!

My journey started with custom number cakes, which eventually grew into custom cookies. While cookies are my specialty, I’ve expanded into custom cakes, cupcakes, and now even dipped treats.

I truly believe my creativity and attention to detail are what set me apart. I love taking the details I’m given about an event, a theme, or a person and turning those ideas into something unique on my edible canvas.

One of the things I’m most proud of throughout this journey has been the incredible opportunities I’ve been blessed with, including creating orders for Chick-fil-A, Bud Light, Starbucks, the Spurs, and so many other amazing clients. But beyond the orders, I’m most grateful for the wonderful small business owners and creative people I’ve met along the way.

If you’re thinking about taking the leap and starting a small business, no matter what it is just do it. It may not be easy, but the growth, connections, and memories you create along the way are worth it.

What were you like growing up?
Growing up, I was definitely on the calmer side. Like I mentioned earlier, I’m a very, very shy person. It wasn’t until I moved here 6 years ago to attend the Culinary Institute of America that I really began to come out of my shell and discover more confidence in myself.

I’ve always been told I was a pretty good kid, but you could definitely find me in the middle of the night, while everyone else was asleep, creating something in the kitchen with nothing more than flour and water. Baking has always been my happy place, and even from a young age, I loved experimenting, creating, and bringing ideas to life.

Looking back, I think that little kid making late night kitchen creations had no idea where that passion would eventually take me.
