Meet Adam Patesel of Alamo City Digital

Today we’d like to introduce you to Adam Patesel.

Adam, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
I didn’t start out in this field at all. I actually spent 20+ years in banking, which gave me a strong foundation in business, structure, and working with people.

Back in 2016, my son Nathan and I started a YouTube vlog called N&A Vlogs: The SA Project. That experience really introduced me to filming, editing, posting, and being creative. At the time, it was just something we were doing together, and I looked at it as home movies of us doing stuff, but looking back, it played a big role in shaping the path I eventually took.

In 2019, I was introduced to Dragon by Damius, who have both been featured here. At the time, I was working on Damius’s website, and when Dragon found out, he asked me to help with a site he was building for a band through Bad Vibe Studios. That opportunity really opened the door for me.

I’ve always had an interest in tech, design, and media, so I started learning web development, video production, audio and digital marketing on the side. What began as curiosity quickly turned into real projects through the studio with Bad Vibe Multimedia, then into helping small businesses, and eventually into launching my own company, Alamo City Digital.

From there, things grew organically. I began building websites, creating video content, and helping businesses improve their online presence, not just visually, but in a way that actually drives results. Along the way, I’ve had the opportunity to collaborate with other creatives and production teams on larger media projects, which has helped me expand both my skillset and perspective.

Today, my focus is on helping businesses turn their online presence into something that truly works for them, whether that’s through websites, automation, content, or overall strategy. It’s been a bit of an unconventional path, but looking back, every step, especially my time in banking, along with the great business owners I’ve worked with, has shaped how I approach business and how I serve my clients today.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It definitely hasn’t been a smooth road. Transitioning from a 20+ year career in banking into something creative and self-driven came with a lot of uncertainty. I was learning entirely new skill sets while trying to build a business at the same time, so there were a lot of long days, late nights, and moments where things didn’t go as planned.

Early on, I was wearing every hat, web development, video, marketing, sales, client communication, while also trying to figure out how to run a business the right way. There wasn’t a clear roadmap, so a lot of it came down to trial and error, staying consistent, and pushing through even when progress felt slow.

There were definitely moments where things could have gone a different direction, but I was fortunate to have a strong foundation around me. My faith has kept me grounded, and I have an incredible support system in people like Dragon from Bad Vibe Studios/Multimedia, Damius who introduced me to Dragon, Brian Hill of Ultra Threads, Daniel Musquiz from Nextech Pest Control in Abilene, Josh Walker from Unbearded Media, my mom, Christine Brown, and stepdad, Charles Brown. They’ve all played a role in supporting both me and the business along the way.

Those challenges ended up shaping how I work today. They taught me to be adaptable, to stay focused on results, and to approach every project with a problem-solving mindset. Looking back, I wouldn’t change that part of the journey, it’s what built the foundation for everything I’m doing now.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your business?
Alamo City Digital is a full-service digital and media company focused on helping businesses build a strong and effective online presence. I specialize in website design and development, video content, and digital marketing, with a focus on making sure everything I create actually works, not just visually, but in a way that drives real results.

What sets me apart is the combination of creative and business strategy. A lot of agencies focus on one or the other, but coming from a business background, I approach every project with both in mind. It’s not just about building a nice-looking website or producing a great video, it’s about how those pieces fit into the bigger picture and help a business grow.

I also focus on meeting businesses where they are. Not every company needs the same solution, and I don’t believe in pushing the latest trend just because it’s popular. The goal is to understand what each business actually needs and build something that makes sense for them, something practical, effective, and sustainable.

Along the way, I’ve had the opportunity to collaborate with teams like Bad Vibe Multimedia, Weslicar Productions and Unbearded Media on a variety of creative and production projects, which has helped expand both my skillset and perspective when it comes to delivering for clients.

Over time, I’ve also leaned into automation and systems that help businesses operate more efficiently, whether that’s through lead follow-up, customer communication, or reputation management. The goal is always to create something that continues working for the business long after it’s launched.

What I’m most proud of is the relationships I’ve built and the impact I’ve been able to have with the businesses I work with. Many of my clients come to me needing clarity, direction, or a reset, and being able to help them move forward with confidence is something I take seriously.

At the end of the day, Alamo City Digital is built on being dependable, adaptable, and results-focused. I’m not trying to be everything to everyone, I focus on doing solid work, treating people right, and helping businesses put their best foot forward in a digital world.

How can people work with you, collaborate with you or support you?
The easiest way to work with me is just to reach out and start a conversation. Most projects begin with a simple discussion about what you’re trying to accomplish and where things currently stand, and from there we can figure out the best path forward.

I work with a range of businesses, from those just getting started to ones that need to improve or rebuild their current online presence. Whether it’s a new website, content creation, or building out systems and automation, I try to meet people where they are and tailor the approach to what they actually need.

I’m also always open to collaborating with other creatives, production teams, and businesses on projects. A lot of the work I’ve been part of has come through relationships and partnerships, and I value that side of things just as much as the work itself.

The best way to connect is through my website or social media, or even just a direct message. I try to keep things simple and approachable, no pressure, just a conversation to see if it’s a good fit.
