Meet Abram Estrada of San Antonio

Today we’d like to introduce you to Abram Estrada.

Hi Abram, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
As of this year, I’ve been a DJ and music producer for 12 years. My professional journey began at age 7 as AXE6, inspired by watching my dad DJ, play guitar & piano, and wanting to follow in his footsteps.

While my main focus has always been DJ’ing and music production, I’ve also spent the past two years as the lead guitarist and a songwriter for a punk band. Exploring different genres and roles as a musician has helped shape my sound and broaden my creative perspective.
I’ve always been passionate about music, and I’m incredibly grateful to have parents who have supported my dreams every step of the way. Now, at 19 years old and entering my sophomore year of college, I’m balancing school with a growing touring career. This year I’ll be making my Kentucky debut and looking forward to my return to Oklahoma and Kansas for some amazing shows.

The experiences I’ve gained as a DJ, producer, and guitarist have given me a unique musical foundation that’s continually evolving and influencing my artistry.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
The biggest challenge throughout my career has been my age. Early on, not everyone was willing to book a 10-year-old kid who wanted to play EDM. Instead of letting that discourage me, I focused on proving myself every time I had the opportunity. I believed that if someone took a chance on me, my talent and professionalism would speak for itself.
Over the years, that persistence has paid off. What started as people seeing me as a young DJ has evolved into being recognized as a musician and artist who genuinely cares about the music I create. Earning that respect has been one of the most rewarding parts of my journey so far.

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
As a DJ/producer, I’ve had many amazing opportunities to work with different artists and perform at incredible venues across multiple states. I’ve had the chance to be direct support for Beastboi and Hi I’m Ghost, while also sharing lineups with artists like Subtronics, A Hundred Drums, and SoSus—artists I’ve admired for years and who have made a huge impact on the bass music scene.
Outside of live performances, I’ve also expanded into composing, including writing an original movie score for a film project in Austin. Being able to apply my music to visual storytelling has challenged me creatively and opened up an entirely new side of my artistry. Whether I’m producing for the stage or for the screen, I’m always looking for new ways to create meaningful musical experiences.
I’ve also been invited to play at the Dallas Cowboys stadium, and many out of state festivals including DanceFestopia and Miami Music Week. This year I’m excited to be invited back to Dancefestopia for my third year on a bigger stage!
I’ve taken great pride in my music and have dedicated countless hours to refining my production and songwriting.
To date, I’m most proud of my last EP “Simulation Transfer” hitting #1 on Beatport’s Dubstep Releases and being named Beatport’s Trending Artist.
What I feel like sets me apart is I put so much time into writing unique chords and melodies rather than having the generic dubstep motifs.

Can you talk to us a bit about happiness and what makes you happy?
What makes me happiest is writing music that feels fun and genuine to me. Whether it’s a dubstep track, a punk song, or just a random 10-second melody, I love creating whatever comes naturally in the moment. The best ideas are the ones that aren’t forced—they just happen. That’s what keeps music exciting for me and what makes me happiest as an artist.
I’m also stoked to share that I have new music, an EP, coming out later this year which will show how melodic yet intense I can get with production.
