Life & Work with Throckmorton of San Antonio

Today we’d like to introduce you to Throckmorton.

Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
Throckmorton started out in a garage, when two best friends (Julian and Eyan) whose passion for music brought them together to start creating compelling compositions of their own. We met in middle school band and remained friends up until high school. All throughout high school is when we started creating music of our own, and playing covers in Eyan’s garage, and we noticed our instant connection. But it wasn’t until 2025 when we started taking it serious. Quitting our jobs and making music full time. We had the music the music down, but we can’t do everything ourselves. So we then brought in our other best friend (Riley) to help us with all logistics, and social media managing. And thus, Throckmorton came to life.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Throckmorton has been a smooth road. So far the only struggles has been financial, and getting our music available on all platforms. It’s a lot of learning, and working with what we’ve got but it’s just the very beginning for us.

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
Throckmorton is an art collective, consisting of music and band photography. We specialize in blending groovy beats with beautiful melodies and intricate/comprehensive guitar work. We are most proud of our musicianship, and specifically our song greenus. We are a band that takes pride in our sound, despite not fitting in to the “normal” sound of this scene. Our ability to create a piece of music that is easy to remember, easy to dance, and vibe to is what sets us apart!

What would you say have been one of the most important lessons you’ve learned?
Communication, patience, consistency, focus, vulnerability, and being genuine are all so important when it comes to making art and dreams like this come to life. Emanating a light that others can see and hold onto is super important to us. With that, we are very fortunate to be working with each other and our individual work doesn’t go unnoticed.
