Today we’d like to introduce you to Mariana Duzansky
Hi Mariana, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
I am a bilingual Texas girl that loves mojitos and to rewatch F.R.I.E.N.D.S. My wedding planning story began with my own love story. I met my husband through Tinder way back in 2015. He was my first Tinder date, and I was his last. We married in 2018 and now have two kiddos and a fur baby.
It was during the planning of our two weddings (One local and one destination) that I realized something – planning weddings was my passion.
Both weddings were planned in such a fun and smooth way and the memories of those days are cherished Forever. This is what motivated me to be a wedding planner. My aspiration is clear – to guide other couples to make this journey fun, to enjoy their time leading up to their wedding day, and to make their vision a reality.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
When I started Forever Wedding Services back in 2019 I was full of excitement of creating my own wedding planning business. Enters 2020. As we know the Covid pandemic hit and my business, as many others world wide were affected. Since social gatherings had been reduced to 10 people my services were no longer needed by a handful pf couples that had hired me since they had moved their wedding to the court and a small dinner in their homes. Although a few of my couples did move their dates for 2021, I was still disappointed. But of course everyone’s health was a priority and we all struggled during the pandemic.
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I am a San Antonio Wedding Planner. I help couples design, plan, coordinate and bring to life their wedding vision. At Forever Wedding services we offer Full planning and Wedding coordination. The difference between the two is that a full wedding planner does that, plans. From the moment you are engaged to the moment you drive away in your getaway limo, we take care of all the details and logistics in between. We help you pick a theme and color palette that reflect you and your personality. We book vendors, keep track of contracts, and organize mockup meeting were we can play around with items for a perfect tablescape. A wedding coordinator’s job is to take over your planning one month before your big day. By then you should have everything planned yourself, and we take care of last minute items such as Finalizing your timeline, attend the Venue’s Final Walkthrough, Rehearsal Direction, Vendor Confirmations, and on the wedding day make sure all falls into place and proceeds smoothly according to your timeline.
As a wedding planner and type A personality I love every aspect of the planning. I love organizing vendor contracts and creating easy and smooth floor plans, but on the other hand I am able to unleash my creative side. Once we have confirmed your budget and allocated funds for each item (venue, photographer, band, etc), we move to the design phase. When it comes to design, what sets us apart from other planners is that we provide the full design experience. We create a mood board based on your taste, a design proposal that walks you through every aspect of the day, from what the ceremony chairs look like to the color napkin on the sweetheart table. As an artistic person, I also hand draw sketches for my clients to bring forth an image of what we’d like the final product to look. In the era of AI, my clients appreciate the time and personal tyle I put into my sketches. Overall, whether its the planning or the design, I love doing it all, knowing it will bring my client’s dream wedding to life!
So maybe we end on discussing what matters most to you and why?
The most important aspect of planning a wedding for me is ensuring that it is the client’s vision we are planning for, and not that of their parents, friends, or even my own. Yes, I may have a great and fresh idea for their cake table, but if the client’s are not amazed and convinced, I am not moving forward with that design. I want my couples to see themselves in the process and in the end product. Most couples do love my input and in most cases they hire me because they have an overall idea of what they’d like but not the specifics, like napkin folds or signage. Hence why I provide the design experience, allowing for my couples to fully enjoy the process if picking out design elements while trusting that I will bring their vision a reality, but the 2.0 upgraded version. I will never try and convince them on a design that I don’t believe they will love. It is THEIR wedding!
