Hi Lydia, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstories.
Art and beauty have always been central to my identity, even as a child. Much of my time growing up was spent trying to translate my love of beauty through various artistic mediums; namely drawing, painting, and sculpture.
I was first exposed to the permanent makeup industry four years ago. Immediately, I knew I had discovered my calling. To this day, in an ever-evolving industry, I am devoted to perfecting my technique as a permanent make-up artist.
Through my micro blading business, Perfect Brows, I strive to provide exceptional results to my clients by utilizing the most cutting-edge tools and techniques.
I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle-free, but so far would you say the journey has been a fairly smooth road?
Microblading – which is the form of permanent make-up that I specialize in – is very difficult to master. Proper training is necessary to ensure the technique is being performed safely and correctly. Unfortunately, there aren’t many studios in San Antonio that offer high-quality training programs.
As a result, I had to develop my skill as a microblading artist independently, without much guidance or instruction. It took a lot of perseverance, time, and effort for me to master my technique.
I’m currently designing a comprehensive curriculum to make learning how to microblade achievable, even for people who aren’t naturally artistic.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I am a Microblading Artist and Nanoblading Specialist.
Microblading is the process of creating a semi-permanent cosmetic tattoo by inserting pigment into the superficial layers of the skin. Because the pigment is only inserted superficially, it typically fades off gradually as the skin renews. Microblading results typically last 1-2 years, depending on the skin type and lifestyle of the client.
The microblading method practiced at Perfect Brows is known as nanoblading. Nanoblading is an advanced technique that produces realistic-looking results by using a very thin microblade capable of creating cuts approximately the diameter of real hair in the skin.
Where we are in life is often partly because of others. Who/what else deserves credit for how your story turned out?
My parents are a huge source of inspiration to me! They are very hard-working, industrious people.
I’ve also been supported and encouraged by many friends and my significant other.
Lastly, I owe a great debt of gratitude to all of my clients – especially the ones who have continued to book my services throughout the years. Their allegiance is what makes Perfect Brows amazing!
