Life & Work with Glazadia Alberti

Today we’d like to introduce you to Glazadia Alberti.

Hi Glazadia, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
Hi! My name is Glazadia Alberti. I’m 32 years old. I was born in San Francisco California, raised in Puerto Rico but living in San Antonio Texas for the past 6 years. I’m a makeup artist, beauty content creator on social media, wife and mom of a 2 years old baby boy. My passion for makeup started at 14 years old. Growing up I had a very difficult childhood and I had a very low self-esteem. I suffered teen depression because of my weight and dark circles. I didn’t know how to cover the dark circles under my eyes. I started watching Youtube videos and I learned how to cover them. When I graduate from High school I decided to go to school to become a Professional Makeup Artist. Since then I have been taking different courses to keep myself updated with the latest trends. When I moved to San Antonio Texas 6 years ago we had to start from cero. I had to work in different places to make decent income and succeed in this new country where I didn’t know anyone. Two years ago (February 2020) because of my high risk pregnancy I had to stop working until my baby was borned. A month after that ( March 2020) Coronavirus hits. That changed everything including my baby’s birth. But that’s another story. When my baby was two months old I had to go back to work but with the Covid situation I didn’t even have someone to take care of my baby so I had to quit my job. Honestly, that’s the hardest decision I’ve made in my life. My life changed completely. I wasn’t feeling good at all and I decided to get up every morning to do my makeup because I knew that was going to make me feel better. All of a sudden I remembered how much I love makeup and I started to make makeup videos to post on Instagram. My purpose was to share my knowledge about makeup with my friends while I was doing something that makes me feel happy. Makeup helped me feeling better during my postpartum depression. A year after I started looking for something to make money from home. One day I told myself, “Why don’t you start your business again?” And I did. Full of fear and insecurities but I decided to use social media to reach people in my area that needs my makeup services or want to learn how to do their makeup. I started teaching my friends how to do their makeup and feel better about themselves. Little by little I started earning money to pay my bills and help my husband. At this moment I do makeup for different events, makeup classes in person and online, I create content for brands and I’ve created a beautiful community of more than 40k followers on Social Media. And honestly, I love what I do now.

I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey has been a fairly smooth road?
It hasn’t been smooth at all. My first obstacle was myself. I didn’t believe in myself at the beginning. Also, I didn’t have the money to buy everything I needed to start my business. Was very frustrating.

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I’m a professional makeup artist. I do Bridal, Quinces and glam makeup. Basically makeup for any event. Also, I have different classes virtual and in person where I teach how to do makeup. I love teaching. My passion is to help women all over the world to feel better about themselves. I believe that we should take care of our mental health as true beauty lies within. That’s why I help women improve their makeup skills. Providing easy and quick courses for them to learn how to put on makeup from cero. My vision is to positively impact many powerful and brave women by helping them heal their inner self through makeup. Achieve raising their skills so they can put on makeup like a professional. So when they see themselves in the mirror they feel beautiful. Thus increasing their self-esteem and self-love. That what’s set us apart from others.

What does success mean to you?
Success for me is waking up every morning to do my passion. Do what makes me feel happy. Passion is an energy resource that fuels our success in life. But success is more than just following your passion. It’s about making a difference in your life and in others’ lives.

I love the story and believe in the mission Glazadia wants to accomplish. Her dedication to her work and to make sure that the person that she is working with feels like a completely changed individual at the end of the class or when she(Glazadia) finishes applying the make-up products. At the end, she is really making a difference in the lives of these persons.
