Hi Elizabeth, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
Venus Aura Beauty started because I wanted to create a non-judgemental space, where people from any walks of life can come in and show themselves some self-care. I had worked in corporate for years and had a realization that I was not passionate about what I do. I had always been interested in skincare, so I decided to go back to school to get my Esthetics license. Once I graduated I quit my 9-5 to work at a local waxing studio. Who knew I would fall in love with waxing?! I wanted to be able to put my personality into the workspace so I decided to go back to working full time and open up my own studio. For seven months I worked full time and would take clients after work and that’s how I was able to build up my clientele. In December of 2021 I was able to transition working at Venus Aura Beauty full time.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
The main struggle was putting complete faith in myself and believing I could make my dream into a full-time income. Not being from San Antonio, I was worried that since I didn’t know many people that I might fail. I was lucky enough to meet some amazing Estheticians along the way that have given me advice and pushed me to go out on my own.
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I specialize in full body waxing and lash lifting. My lash lifts have definitely got my name out there! Lash lifting is a perm for your natural lashes that can last 6-8 weeks. Perfect for the more natural beauty clientele that do not want to get lash extensions. What sets Venus Aura apart from other beauty studios honestly is myself. Everyone has their own personality and no two people are alike. When you walk into my room my energy is poured into it and it is definitely felt by the client. My goal is to have you comfortable, safe and looking forward to your self-care appointment.
