Today we’d like to introduce you to Brandy Ramirez.
Hi Brandy, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstories with our readers?
My story began in my last semester of nursing school. I was at a difficult point in my life when I became interested in aesthetic injecting.
My boyfriend had just recently passed away, and although I originally wanted to be a pediatric nurse, it was difficult for me to continue in that specialty after losing the person I planned to start a family with.
I felt low and lost, and I couldn’t provide myself with the self-love or self-care I needed. It took months to form this realization, but when I did, I decided to visit a local SA med spa for some self-care.
I met with my current aesthetic injector for the first time, and just by the way she treated me/made me feel like a patient, I knew this was a specialty I wanted to practice in.
Not only did she provide me with a beauty enhancement, but she also provided me with a space to feel beautiful, comfortable, and accepted – this was what I knew I wanted for my patients.
After I received my BSN, RN, and became certified in dermal fillers and botox, it remained my mission to create a safe space for those seeking beauty enhancements as both forms of physical and mental self-care.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
I’ve had my struggles in aesthetic injecting, as it has required not only further education but much dedication to improve my art form and grow my clientele/their trust as well.
Even after becoming certified, I’m still improving, as I’m continuously adapting and applying different techniques to the facial features being focused on. Injecting involves assessing the patient and deciding what technique(s) is best to reach the desired result.
Injecting also takes patience to ensure safe practice and patient satisfaction. I believe as long as I keep all of this in mind, I can create a smooth road going forward.
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I’m an aesthetic injector certified in dermal fillers and botox. I most enjoy performing lip and chin augmentations because these are two areas of the face that can range from having subtle to more noticeable results.
That’s the beauty of “beauty enhancements” – each patient already has this amazing canvas to work with and I simply enhance it with my art. This directly relates to what my idea of beauty is; my patients sit in my chair, already beautiful as they are to me.
Together, we discuss ways to bring that out further, which I believe sets me apart from others.
What does success mean to you?
Throughout my life, I’d reach success and it felt short-lived, like getting on a rollercoaster that came to an abrupt end after going through such a wild ride.
I was chasing the idea of success rather than what I wanted to come along with it. For that reason, I’ve begun to define success as doing things that bring me utmost joy.
It’s been a much-needed change of mindset to value joy in place of believing success should bring materials and materials should bring happiness.
