Today we’d like to introduce you to Alma Torres
Hi Alma, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
Hi my name is Alma Torres, I’m a Certified Makeup Artist. I started my makeup journey in 2020 I believe when COVID-19 hit, at that time I didn’t have any passion, til my cousin told me to do makeup lives & content. I didn’t know anything about makeup, didn’t know how to blend my eyeshadow or put lashes til I practice and practice, I kept going & love what I was doing entertaining my views on my live by doing makeup. I had gotten better with my makeup techniques, the next step i wanted was to work on clients better my work more. I went to school in 2024 got Certified for Makeup Artist, I learned a lot when I was in the beauty school from sanitation, to technique & business. I honestly came along way & just love what I do.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Being a beginner Makeup Artist was a really tough struggle for me, just motivating myself to do better for my business and advertising my small business. The struggle of your clients trusting you with what your working with.
Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I specialize as a Makeup Artist, what Im proud of is not giving up my dreams just keep pushing. Being able to listen to clients and understand their vision. Develop a confident and appropriate way to interact with clients. Build rapport with clients by making them feel comfortable.
Do you any memories from childhood that you can share with us?
My favorite childhood memory is when my dad took me, my brothers & sister to a ranch to see and ride on a horse. We took a small family picture.
