Hello there, my name is Tony Carranza, owner of Always Green Synthetic Lawns and Putting Greens.
I started my business 22 years ago. Coming from a landscape background, getting into the artificial turf (synthetic grass) industry was a good fit for us, but it wasn’t an easy transition. We were one of the first companies to start installing turf in the San Antonio area and all neighboring cities, and we are the longest-running company in the business today.
Artificial turf was so new that it was a very hard sale in the beginning. It took a lot of dedication to stay with it and keep going. Now, 22 years later, we are busier than ever, handling everything from residential to commercial projects. Our business has taken us all over Texas, and we work on some amazing projects. We continue to strive for excellence on every project, and that commitment is what separates us from the competition.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Our biggest struggles in business came in the beginning. Artificial turf was such a new concept that convincing people to make the switch from natural grass was incredibly difficult. We had to work hard to prove the significant savings on water bills, not to mention the reduction in time and effort required to maintain a well-manicured yard.
