Today we’d like to introduce you to Steven Cosimano.
Hi steven, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I begin as a teenager following the work of Yoganada and the Self-Realization Fellowship doing meditation and yoga practices that were taught with a 3-year program. It was 1968, so there were not a lot of places to learn practices. In 1990, i took classes with Mantak Chia and began doing mostly Daoist practices going forward which included Qigong, Tai Chi and later other Internal Arts Practices such as Baguazhang.. I begin doing meditation and movement practices for myself and around 18 years ago, I discovered other people around me were interested in learning these practices for health and wellness and began teaching first in different yoga studios and then in my own studio. While working with people with mobility issues and pain and recovery from injuries and surgeries, I became aware that my clients also were interested in other practices such as meditation and spiritual development. i began adding other modalities that I learned from some of the best teachers in the work such as hypnosis and subconscious repatterning for PTSD, anxiety and many other issues and also working with athletes for Iron Man competitions and Golf Mind Mastery to name a few. Bio Terrain Energy Healing is another modality I use which includes acupressure and essential oils to harmonize and rebalance the Body Mind Spirit. I am presently teaching locally in San Antonio and provide zoom group and private classes each week with clients in different states. I am also developing an on-demand teaching platform to allow people to subscribe to various courses to take and complete on their own schedule online. My focus is on practices for the Body Mind Spirit, and i work with many different modalities. Currently i have been doing these practices for 55 years and teaching them for the past 18 years. I moved here from New York four years ago.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Our path is always full of challenges and obstacles. As healing practitioners, we are often ‘wounded healers’, which I became very aware of in my Shamanic training. I have been through some serious health concerns that I was diagnosed with such as ankylosing spondylitis, afib and some others that I was able to overcome by using many of the trainings that I have had using Chinese and Ayurvedic medicine and somatic movement. The biggest recent challenge for many of us in small businesses was Covid. During that time, I had my studio in New York and was seeing around 40 people a week and then when the lock downs came, I saw around five people a week. I stayed open the entire time, however after a year and a half people were still too afraid to come to class and I began doing zoom classes the week after lock downs began, thinking it would be for a month and that became the main part of my work. After that year and a half I decided to move to San Antonio and reimagine my business model to include work in person and to focus on national zoom classes and a teaching platform to expand the business into formats I presume will survive through any further disruptions like those we went through during Covid.
Appreciate you sharing that. What should we know about San Antonio Wellness?
San Antonio Wellness is my local website that I use and i will be doing treatments and classes at the Center for Infinite Transformation at 16350 Blanco Road beginning in December. My teaching platform will be accessible from the Wellness International Institute website which is my national presence for zoom classes and teaching online. What makes me different is that because of my age and experience, I provide a complete protocol of Body Mind Spirit wellness modalities. Generally, someone just does Qigong or Tai Chi or any of the other modalities I offer. Because I have been doing this for decades, I have become proficient in most of the challenges we face in life and can work on several levels to help people. When something is more out of my range, I consult and bring in other Holistic consultants to help. A primary focus is Health and Wellness that is complimentary to any allopathic medicine people are using. Using Eastern and Western technologies is the best of all possible worlds when they are available. My treatments and movement classes focus on this aspect. My secondary focus is Spiritual Practices that help make us better humans. I am known by some to help them with pain and mobility challenges, Others by my Hypnosis work which includes Dolores Cannon’s QHHT. Others work with me with my treatments locally with Bio Terrain and Energy Healing. My services are too extensive to list here; however the websites go into detail, and the media kit includes all of that.

What do you like and dislike about the city?
I like the weather here since it is sunny most of the time and the large variety of businesses and restaurants that a large city has to offer; and i also like that even though it is a large city it still feels like a small town, where people are friendly. I like the cultural diversity that I was used to living in NYC. I like the Hill Country, however i do miss the color change of the trees in Autumn and the pine trees and lakes and mountains that were all around me in New York once you left the city.
