Today we’d like to introduce you to Rosemarie Flores.
Hi Rosemarie, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
Born and raised in the Southside of San Antonio, I was blessed with a mother who always preached “if you want something, you work for it”. My mother, Rosalinda, is my role model and the true definition of strength. During my sophomore year, a health scare really put my life into perspective.
After feeling a sharp pain in my stomach, I was rushed to the hospital and was told by a doctor that I would be having emergency surgery to remove a tumor; a tumor I didn’t know I had. The tumor was twenty-three pounds, benign, and left me with a huge scar on my stomach that I still have to this day.
Hearing the doctor tell my family “Had two more months passed, she wouldn’t have survived” made me realize I had a purpose and it was up to me to find that purpose. Going through life, I knew I had a passion for serving others. I volunteer at many different organizations around San Antonio. With an ability to empathize and build trust, I knew I wanted a career that would involve helping people.
While searching for the right career path, I remember asking myself “What gives me the best of both worlds?” “Where can I help people and also utilize my banking background?” A Mortgage Loan Originator was the answer. I love being able to help families get into their dream home while making sure it makes sense financially.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Life is unpredictable so of course, it wasn’t a smooth road.
The NMLS test was one of the most difficult tests I have ever taken. Fortunately, my faith, my two boys, and my amazing support system always find a way to breathe life into me when I do have moments of uncertainty.
We’ve been impressed with Directions Home Loan Schertz, but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
I am a Licensed Mortgage Loan Originator for Directions Home Loan Schertz. I am able to do home loans for the entire state of Texas.
Conventional Loans, VA Loans, FHA Loans, and Construction Loans are the loans I specialize in. I am known for my willingness to educate. Growing up, there wasn’t much talk about college, owning a home, or credit. Now that I have the knowledge I do, I feel it’s important to share it.
My heart, my morals, and my values set me apart.
All my work is completed the right way and with pure intentions. Communication is important. As a Mortgage Loan Originator, I understand the importance of time. This is why all my clients have my personal cell phone and know they can contact me anytime and even on the weekends.
Can you talk to us about how you think about risk?
I believe risk-taking is necessary for growth.
Now, I’m not saying I’m going to go to Vegas and put all my money on red but what I am saying is had I never taken risks, or “leaps of faith” is what I like to call it, I would not be where I am today.
