Hi Katrina, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
This story starts with knowing one’s worth and the sacrifice to show the world. Over 10 years, I learned the ins and outs of the spa industry by giving the services and experiencing it for myself. While listening to the licensed massage therapist’s needs, I heard the clients’ frustrations and complaints about their body aches. It all became apparent when one of my clients exhaled, “I needed you.” Right then and there, I knew that we could change lives with an extraordinary experience of our services done the right way. I made a plan and leaped! Started You Knead Me Massage Studio where Luxury meets excellence. We’ve been open and running for a year and steadily growing each month.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Anyone who says starting a business was a smooth road is either lying or delusional. Bumpy is how you should like it! If it were smooth, I would have stayed the same scared massage therapist following everyone else’s rules. With the bumps, I’ve learned more about this business, this craft, people, and so much more about myself. When a challenge was set before me, it could no longer be a problem because problems always meant something bad. Instead, it was just another challenge I got to learn from to get us out of that ditch and back on the road. When there was a slow week, I would learn a new skill or blow up the accounts of SA Live to get on the show! When no one was booking our couples massage lesson, I set up models and took footage to create the vibe of what to expect. We’re not meant to stay stuck in what we can’t control but to find ideas and create a different outcome towards a solution.

We see growth and expansion with more studios servicing more people who need us. The goal is to spread awareness of me time and self-care. You are the most essential part of your world. Once you’ve correctly cared for yourself, you feel good; when you feel good, you make others feel good. They want to know why you feel so good, and they start to feel good by taking time away from their current distractions. By spreading this awareness, we will begin to change the world.
