Today we’d like to introduce you to JessAnne Guzman.
Hi JessAnne, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
I would first like to thank Voyage San Antonio Magazine for giving me the opportunity to reshare my story and provide an update on my journey.
I’m a West Texas girl, born and raised in Midland, Texas, and the oldest of two daughters. I owe so much of who I am to my parents, who taught me the value of hard work, resilience, and finding purpose in everything I do. Those lessons became the foundation for the life I’ve built.
My path wasn’t the traditional one. I was the first in my family to attend college, but before that, I became a teen mom during my senior year of high school. According to society’s expectations, I wasn’t supposed to end up where I am today. Instead of encouragement, I often faced judgment from people I thought would mentor and support me. Looking back, those experiences didn’t define me—they strengthened me.
God placed one incredible teacher in my life at exactly the right time. She believed in me when I struggled to believe in myself. She reminded me that motherhood was a blessing, not a setback, and encouraged me to prove the world wrong. Her words gave me hope and the confidence to keep moving forward.
While in high school, I enrolled in the cosmetology program, earned my cosmetology license, and discovered a love for serving people. Working as a hairstylist paid my way through college, taught me invaluable life and business skills, and showed me the confidence that comes from helping someone feel beautiful.
I later married my high school sweetheart, the father of my two children. Becoming a mother deepened my desire to make a greater impact. I’ve always had a heart for caring for others, and through faith, God led me into nursing.
I earned my Associate’s Degree and became a Licensed Vocational Nurse through Midland College. It remains one of the accomplishments I’m most proud of because many people doubted I would make it. That season taught me that other people’s opinions do not determine God’s plans for your life.
Early in my nursing career, I worked alongside a physician who introduced me to the world of aesthetics. What started as a job quickly became a passion. I loved that aesthetics allowed me to combine science, medicine, artistry, and compassion while helping people regain confidence in themselves.
Today, after 18 years in healthcare and aesthetics, I’ve had the opportunity to work in dermatology, plastics, home health, geriatrics, pediatrics, and clinical nursing. Although every experience shaped me, my heart has always been in dermatology, lasers, and aesthetics.
Three years ago, I took one of the biggest leaps of faith of my life and opened my own practice, JessAnne Aesthetics. I started as a solo aesthetic nurse with a vision of providing customized, results-driven treatments while building meaningful relationships with every client who walked through my door.
Watching that vision grow has been one of God’s greatest blessings. This past year, my daughter joined me as my Operations Manager and Lead Esthetician, making this business even more special because we now get to serve our community together. We’ve also been blessed by the support of our Social Media Manager and my Assistant, a close family friend who has been with me from the very beginning, helping build this business into what it is today. Together, we’ve created not just a team, but a family united by a shared passion for serving others. Seeing the people I love work alongside me is something I never imagined years ago, and it’s a reminder of God’s faithfulness.
At JessAnne Aesthetics, we specialize in customized skincare, advanced laser treatments, microneedling, chemical peels, skin rejuvenation, laser hair removal, and treatments that address acne, pigmentation, melasma, fine lines, wrinkles, and skin tightening. Every treatment plan is personalized because I believe every patient deserves care that is unique to them.
The greatest reward isn’t the treatments themselves—it’s watching someone look in the mirror and smile with renewed confidence. Those moments remind me why I chose this profession.
When I look back at the teenage girl who was told she wouldn’t amount to much, I can’t help but smile. God had a much bigger plan than I could have imagined. My story is proof that your circumstances don’t define your future. With faith, perseverance, hard work, and the courage to keep moving forward, God can take what the world sees as impossible and turn it into something beautiful.
Looking back, I can honestly say one thing: God has been faithful every step of the way, and all the glory belongs to Him.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It has definitely not been a smooth road. Like many journeys, mine has come with its share of challenges, setbacks, and moments of uncertainty. There were times when things did not go as planned, but each struggle taught me resilience, patience, and the importance of staying committed to my goals.

What sets my brand apart is the way I lead with authenticity, integrity, and purpose. I’m honest and will always lead with the truth, and that same mindset is reflected in everything I do. What I am most proud of brand-wise is the trust I have built and the ability to keep pushing forward while staying true to who I am. I want readers to know that my business is rooted in hard work, transparency, and a genuine commitment to serving others well.
What matters most to you? Why?
What matters most to me is how people feel when they are in my presence. I once heard a question that has stayed with me: What mark would God want you to leave on His people? That question transformed the way I approach both life and business.
My goal is for every person who walks through our doors to feel seen, valued, heard, and genuinely cared for. Beyond helping them achieve healthy, beautiful skin, I want to encourage them, build their confidence, and remind them of their worth. Whether they spend time with me or a member of my team, I hope they leave our treatment room feeling lighter, more confident, and better than when they arrived—both inside and out.
