Today we’d like to introduce you to Christia Rogers.
Hi Christia, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today.
My journey to founding Bridges To Crossroads Counseling & IOP Care has been deeply personal, rooted in my passion for helping others, and guided by my experiences. It all began with my undergraduate studies in Exercise Sports Science, a field that initially led me to pursue a career as a track and field coach and educator. As I delved into coaching and education, I discovered a profound joy in mentoring young adults and helping them navigate life’s challenges on and off the track. As Head Coach at a prominent high school in the DFW area, my role provided invaluable opportunities to grow as a leader and deepen my connection with the students I served. Through my experiences in coaching and education, I witnessed firsthand the transformative power of mentorship and guidance, sparking a desire to further support individuals in their personal growth and well-being. This realization ultimately led me to pursue a career in counseling, where I could combine my passion for helping others with my expertise in supporting individuals through life’s ups and downs.
In founding Bridges To Crossroads Counseling & IOP Care, I sought to create a warm and welcoming space where individuals and couples could receive comprehensive support tailored to their unique needs. Along with providing a welcoming space, we are committed to serving people of color, LGBTQIA individuals, and individuals from diverse backgrounds, cultures, and religions. With a dedicated team of professionals who share my commitment to empowering positive change, we have built a practice that prioritizes compassion, empathy, and personalized care. Our journey has been filled with challenges and triumphs, but our dedication to our client’s well-being has remained steadfast. As CEO and Clinical Director, I am deeply grateful for the opportunity to make a difference in the lives of others. I am excited about the continued growth and impact of Bridges To Crossroads Counseling & IOP Care in our community.
Would it have been a smooth road, and if not, what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
The journey to founding Bridges To Crossroads Counseling & IOP Care has been quite the ride, full of twists, turns, and unexpected challenges. When COVID-19 hit, I faced a whole new set of obstacles. Before the pandemic, I was juggling my counseling practice with my work in education, seeing only a handful of clients virtually. But when everything stopped, I had to figure out how to support my clients in a new way. While restructuring and rebranding my practice, I decided to dive headfirst into entrepreneurship and dedicate all my time to Bridges To Crossroads. Stepping away from my role in the school district was easy, but I knew it suited my clients and me. One of my biggest challenges was learning how to run a business from the ground up. From figuring out policies and procedures to becoming the unexpected CFO, I was out of my comfort zone. But you know what? I learned that asking for help wasn’t just okay but necessary and humbling. I surrounded myself with a team of unique individuals who continue to teach and challenge me daily. We’ve tackled each obstacle with determination and a healthy dose of laughter. And you know what they say: tough times bring out the best in people. Today, Bridges To Crossroads Counseling & IOP Care is a testament to the power of resilience, teamwork, and a willingness to learn and grow. I’m incredibly grateful for the journey, the challenges, and the incredible people who have been a part of it all.
We’ve been impressed with Bridges To Crossroads Counseling & IOP Care, but for folks who might need to be more familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
We’re all about creating a welcoming environment where folks can find support and make positive life changes. Our counseling services cover various needs, from individual and group counseling to relationship counseling and life guidance. But what makes us stand out is our community outreach. As members of the Northeast Tarrant County Chamber of Commerce, we’re plugged into our community, reaching out to folks from all walks of life and making connections that matter. Our LPC supervision program is also a big part of what we do at The Associate Academy. It’s our way of helping budding clinicians become their best with specialized programs and personalized guidance. The associates get hands-on experience by having their own practice and spending hours in a supportive learning environment.
What we’re most proud of brand-wise? That’s easy. It’s the feeling of belonging we create for our clients. Whether you’re struggling with life’s challenges or need someone to talk to, we’re here for you every step of the way. At Bridges To Crossroads, it’s all about building relationships and making a positive impact. So, if you’re looking for a place to feel seen, heard, and supported, you’ve come to the right spot. We can’t wait to welcome you into our family!
What changes do you expect to see in your work and the industry over the next five to ten years?
Looking ahead over the next 5-10 years, I see some exciting shifts in the counseling industry. One trend that’s catching on is the growing popularity of telehealth services. Especially after everything we’ve been through with the pandemic, people are realizing just how convenient and accessible online counseling can be. We’ll see even more folks opting for virtual sessions in the future. Something else close to my heart is the focus on diversity and inclusion within counseling. There’s a real push for counselors to be culturally sensitive and aware of each client’s unique needs. I love that we’re moving toward a more inclusive approach to mental health care—it’s so passionate about. I also think we’ll see a rise in holistic approaches to mental health. People are increasingly recognizing that psychological and physical health go hand in hand. So, counselors offering integrative approaches that address the whole person will likely become even more popular. And let’s not forget about the importance of preventative mental health care. As we continue to break down the stigma surrounding mental health, I believe more folks will be proactive about seeking counseling services before issues escalate. It’s all about promoting overall well-being and resilience. Overall, the future of counseling looks bright! It’s an exciting time to be in this field, and I’m eager to see how we can continue to innovate and adapt to meet the evolving needs of our clients.
