Hi Yaritza, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
My journey to owning Cherry AF Medspa really began with a combination of personal passion and a desire to create something meaningful for my family. I’ve always dreamed of having my own business, and as a mother and wife, my family has been my biggest motivation. My husband has been my biggest supporter, constantly encouraging me to pursue my dreams, and my kids inspire me every day to build something that can not only support them but also be a legacy I can leave behind.
Before transitioning into the medspa industry, I spent six years as an ICU Registered Nurse. Working in the intensive care unit gave me an incredibly rewarding career, but it also showed me just how important self-care and well-being are in our lives. I’ve always had a passion for helping others, and being a nurse allowed me to do that on a clinical level. But as time went on, I realized that I wanted to help people in a more holistic and empowering way—focusing on their confidence, wellness, and overall self-esteem. That’s when I started to explore the idea of opening a medspa.
It wasn’t an easy decision, though. I had to learn a whole new industry, but with the support of my family and my own deep passion for helping people feel their best, I knew this was the path I was meant to take. Now, owning Cherry AF Medspa gives me the chance to combine my medical background with my love for aesthetics, creating an environment where people can come to feel confident and rejuvenated in both body and mind.
The best part about this journey has been meeting incredible people—clients who share their stories with me, trusting me to help them look and feel their best. It’s been such a rewarding experience to be part of their transformation and to see them leave our medspa feeling more confident than ever.
Cherry AF Medspa is my dream come true, and I’m so grateful for every step that got me here. I couldn’t have done it without my family, my amazing team, and the wonderful clients who continue to support us.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Honestly, it has not been a smooth road, but I wouldn’t trade the challenges I’ve faced because they’ve all been part of the learning process and have helped me grow both as a business owner and as a person. Starting Cherry AF Medspa was a leap of faith, and there were definitely moments where I wasn’t sure if I was going to make it through some of the tough times.
The medical field is so different from owning and operating a business, and there were so many aspects I had to learn—marketing, managing a team, handling finances, and understanding the ins and outs of aesthetics. It felt like every day brought a new challenge, and there were definitely times where I felt overwhelmed.
Another challenge was building a client base and getting the word out about our services. When you’re starting a new business, you face a lot of uncertainty, especially in a competitive field like aesthetics. But what really kept me going was my passion for what I do and the belief that I was offering something truly special—an environment where people could come not only for physical rejuvenation but also for a boost in confidence and well-being.
In spite of these struggles, I’m so grateful for the growth I’ve experienced. Every hurdle has taught me something invaluable, and while it hasn’t been easy, I’ve built something that I’m proud of, and that’s what keeps me going every day. The challenges have only made the wins sweeter and have shown me the power of perseverance
