Hidden Gems: Meet Theresa Estrada of Wings of Hope Wellness

Today we’d like to introduce you to Theresa Estrada.

Hi Theresa, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
I am Dr. Theresa Estrada. I am first and foremost a believer in Jesus Christ as my Lord and Savior. My relationship with Jesus Christ is the foundation of who I am, which naturally influences what I do and how I live. It is through my relationship with Christ I discovered a passion for healing. I have had the privilege of being an instrument of healing through Chiropractic for over 30 yrs. I pursued my undergraduate studies at St. Mary’s University and received my doctorate from Parker College of Chiropractic. I am also ordained for ministry through Spanish Christian Church and Rally Call Ministries. Through my own personal journey in unlocking identity and purpose, I began to see the correlation of wholeness in our spirit, soul and body. This then led to utilizing other modes of healing, both spiritual and natural. I began by incorporating prayer and spiritual counseling with my patients. It was a natural progression to introduce music and art as part of the healing process. As I have experienced healing and wholeness. and embraced who He has created me to be, it has become a burning passion for me to see others walk in wholeness as well. My desire is to help others discover who they are in Christ and what their purpose is, as well as equip them to fulfill their greatest .potential.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Along the way there have been many challenges. The first major challenge was navigating through the passing of my father. His passing came out of the blue. Shortly after my mother was diagnosed with leukemia. The course of her care required me to drive from a small town ( about an hour drive) to San Antonio drop her off, then head to my office to see my patients, then return by lunch to take her home and drive back up again to see the rest of my patients for the remainder of the day; This occurred for about a year and a half with my mom also passing. A few months later my brother was involved in a motor vehicle accident in which he too required home care. After two years, he too passed.

It was difficult to continue to maintain my Chiropractic Practice. It was then through my healing journey that expanded my Chiropractic Clinic to a Wellness Clinic and from solely a business into a ministry.

Appreciate you sharing that. What should we know about Wings of Hope Wellness ?
First and foremost the foundation of my business/ministry is founded in Jesus Christ as our Lord and Savior. We address the tripart being ; Spirit, Soul and Body. Our aim to have others walk in “wholeness” . As previously stated, it was through my own healing journey that birthed Wings of Hope Wellness. As an ordained minister, we address “Spirit” via spiritual direction and counseling; Soul via creative art, i.e. music and art therapy; and Body via Chiropractic, Nutrition and Education for Stem Cell Therapy.

Through this process our aim is to have one be able to discover their identity and purpose in Christ.

What do you like and dislike about the city?
San Antonio although large in population is family oriented and has maintained a small town vibe..

I dislike that San Antonio aspires to be like the “big cities” and does not recognize her beauty and uniqueness.
