Hi Suzane, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
My brand vision began in 1995, born from a strong family heritage in construction. I had a vision to transform the industry by blending creativity with craftsmanship, and that passion sparked the start of what we are today. We opened our first showroom in Mammoth Lakes and, over the years, expanded into north San Diego County and into the Hill Country of Texas to better serve our clients.
As a locally-owned, family-run business, we’re proud to combine the unique talents of myself and my husband Rob, creating a dynamic team that delivers both inspired design and quality construction. Our son Matt has also become an invaluable part of the company, contributing across many areas with dedication and skill.
Nearly three decades later, our growth has been fueled by expertise, family collaboration, and an unwavering dedication to helping clients bring their dream homes to life.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
No, it definitely hasn’t been a smooth road.
When I started the design and build business, I quickly realized there was so much more to it than just knowing construction. There were countless moving parts and details I had to learn along the way. My motto has always been “fake it till you make it,” and that really carried me through the early days. In fact, my very first project was a $5.8 million build, which came with a learning curve that carried me through my career.
Struggles are part of construction, it’s just the nature of the business. But I’ve learned it’s not about avoiding challenges, it’s about how you adapt to them. Each obstacle has taught me something valuable and made me better at what I do.

What quality or characteristic do you feel is most important to your success?
I would say adaptability is the most important quality to my success. In design and construction, things rarely go exactly as planned, and being able to adjust, problem-solve, and keep moving forward has made all the difference. I’ve learned that every challenge is an opportunity to grow, and that mindset has carried me through the ups and downs of building this business.
