Hidden Gems: Meet Stephanie Juarez

Today we’d like to introduce you to Stephanie Juarez.

Hi Stephanie, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
Years spent in a toxic work environment led me to brainstorm a new direction for my career, for my life. After the loss of my father, I decided that my happiness and peace of mind needed to be a priority. Helping others has been something that brings me satisfaction and I thought that if I could bring peace and healing to others, I too would benefit from it as well.

I wanted to be able to go home at the end of the day and know that I contributed to society in a good way. During my initial massage training, I became very interested in eastern modalities and health with a holistic approach. I studied Shiatsu under two very different instructors, one being Shinzo Fuzimaki. Following that training, I traveled to Thailand to study Thai Massage.

Both of these modalities treat the physical body while also accessing the energetic body with the focus going beyond physical wellness to address energetic differences and disfunction too. In 2004, I found myself taking a CranioSacral Therapy class through The Upledger Institute. Since then, I have taken CranioSacral Therapy for infants and children and Somato Emotional Release. I felt this served to bridge a gap between eastern ideals of healing with western ideas of healing. In 2014, my career took another turn when a close friend of mine suffered a major brain injury. This event led me to seek out ways to heal from Acquired Brain Injury.

Amazingly, an appropriately timed email exposed me to Dr. Bruno Chikly’s Brain Therapy classes. My bodywork practice is ever-evolving. The tools in my therapy toolbox have guided me in addressing patients, adults as well as infants/children, with many different physicals, mental and emotional challenges. My initial reason for learning massage has been realized. The work I do and the patients I serve bring me the fulfillment that I was looking for.

I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle-free, but so far would you say the journey has been a fairly smooth road?
The road hasn’t always been easy but that being said, I’ve been able to work in private practice for 18 years now so really, the bumps have been minor. There are good years and bad years, 2020, you can imagine, was pretty challenging but so much of life is about how we navigate the difficult times with grace and I’m grateful to have been able to do just that.

As you know, we’re big fans of Stephanie Jones Juarez LMT. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about the brand?
One of my favorite things about my business is that there is such a variety of directions to take your business. Because this is the case, each massage therapist/bodyworker has their own unique set of skills. I’m no different. My skill set helps me to address pain and physical disfunction but also neurological dysfunction and the emotions stored within the body.

I’ve been working with adults in my practice for a long time but in the past few years, I have started working with children and infants which makes my heart happy. My menu of services has a little something for everyone and we all can benefit from better self-care and healing of injury and trauma.

If you suffer from muscle soreness or injury, manual massage, Thai Massage, or deep tissue might be your choice. Physical and emotional trauma can be unwound and worked through using CranioSacral Therapy and or Brain Therapy.

How do you define success?
For me, I am successful when my business not only supports myself and my daughter but also brings me happiness, peace of mind and contributes positively to society.

As a client of Stephanies’s, I would highly recommend her services. I needed craniosacral therapy and was recommended to Stephanie by one of her clients. Stephanie has really helped me with many of the health issues I have. She is fantastic

Stephanie Juarez has been my massage therapist for over 10 years I have suffered from Fibromyalgia and chronic neck pain for almost 30 years. I can honestly say that Stephanie is the best therapist I have ever had. She is literally a therapist she doesn’t just rub you down. I highly recommend her.
