Today we’d like to introduce you to Russell Riggan.

Hi Russell, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
I’m a second generation financial advisor. My family has over 100 years in the financial services business. The clients I serve include families, small business owners, corporate executives, farmers and ranchers, retirees and nonprofit organizations. I started Talent Financial Services and affliated with Raymond James in May 2021. I chose to name my practice Talent Financial Services after a biblical parable. In Matthew 25:14-30, Jesus tells the Parable of the Talents. It contains a critical lesson about how we are to be stewards of our God-given abilities and resources. Talent Financial Services is devoted to helping our clients be good stewards of wealth. TFS has 9 locations throughout Texas including Fredericksburg, Midland, Snyder, Granbury and Big Spring. We are entrusted with over $1.75 billion of client assets. TFS is unique by having 11 financial advisors that are all between the ages of 30-47. That enbales us to God-willing out live or age with out clients.

I am a four-time qualifier for the Raymond James Chairman’s Council, recognized in 2022, 2023, 2024 and 2025 as one of the top 100 financial advisors at Raymond James. Additionally, I was named to the Forbes list of Best-in-State Wealth Advisors in both 2024 and 2025. In 2025, he was also ranked among Barron’s Top 1,200 Financial Advisors. I was also place on the 40 Under 40 list by both Investment News and On Wall Street magazines.

I serve on the Raymond James Private Wealth Advisory Council, a prestigious committee of financial advisors within the firm. He has also earned the Private Wealth Advisor designation from Raymond James, which reflects his extensive experience in managing the financial concerns of families, individuals, and organizations of significant wealth.

Owning multiple small businesses and being involved in a multigenerational family business has allowed me to experience generational business planning and estate planning that relates to the challenges and opportunities experienced by small business owners.

Previously in my career, I was a financial advisor with Edward Jones Financial in Snyder, Texas, for nearly 15 years. I earned a bachelor’s degree in finance and an MBA from Texas Tech University.

Active in the community, I served as board chair of Cogdell Memorial Hospital from 2009-2023, and currently serves as a football and basketball coach for both Ira Youth Sports and Shining Stars Sports. I founded a non-profit, the Risen Fund, that raises money to support youth activities in the communities that TFS serves.

I am a native of Snyder, Texas, and split my time between Fredericksburg and Snyder with his children, Kynlee and Rhett. In his free time, Russell enjoys team roping, hunting, and fitness activities.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Everyone faces obstacles. Most people need supprt duinrg those times. In our business, the market goes through recessions, bear markets, and rough patches on a regular basis. We take pride in helping the families that we serve stay calm and patient through rough patches in the financial markets as well as the difficult times of their life. Our goal is to form a multigenerational, lifelong relationship with those families to keep them focused on. What’s important to them throughout the course of generations not the daily stress of life.

Where do you see things going in the next 5-10 years?
I’ve never been more excited about the outlook of our industry. As people use technology more, especially artifical intellignce, the need for personal relationships will become more important to individuals on important matters. We focus on building multigenerational personal relationships with our clients to understand what’s important to them and their family. I personally think we could be entering the golden age of American history. Our country has more wealth than any point in history plus more opportunity to be successful than we have ever seen. Having a trusted professional in the financial services industry and medical profession are two of the most important decisions that most people will make. In our in industry, there are more licensed professionals over the age of 70 then under the age of 30. TFS is positioned to grow older with our clients and work with their future generations as the current professionals in our industry retire. TFS is early adopters of the latest innovations and tecxhnology in the financial services industry to in sure that we stay on the cutting edge of financial advice.
