Hi Maria, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstories.
Hi, my name is Maria, I am the owner of Mariasmealpreps. I started my small business back in 2019 as something to help my co-workers at the time to eat healthy while in the office. I’ve always been into fitness and staying healthy. Meal prepping has always been so easy and helpful for me to stay on track with a healthy lifestyle.
I was 6 months pregnant when I started then once my daughter was here I realized this could turn into something for me to be at home w my daughter and still work. My Instagram and Facebook page started growing and so did my business. I will always be grateful for the customers that have been with me since the beginning. I truly love my business and have so much passion for each meal made. My parents have always owned or worked at a Mexican restaurant so cooking is a passion we have in our family. We offer different meals every week with doorstep delivery or pick up is available.
You can now order online add any specific request for each meal. The macros are available to make it easier to keep track of your nutrition intake. Super proud to announce that our meals are also available to purchase inside PRIME Wellness And Performance at the Dominion Spring Plaza. Our grand opening of Mariasmealpreps Cafe will be on January 8th at2pm inside PRIME.
As my business grows, I would love to encourage everyone who has an idea about starting something to keep going and don’t ever give up on their dreams.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way? Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
It hasn’t been a smooth road it’s been a rocky roller coaster if anything. It all started as such a small idea and I’ve put my heart and soul into it. The hardest struggle has been managing my business, being a full-time mom and a wife.
Learning time management and not overworking myself. There’s times where it gets very stressful and a lot of hard labor on my body. Staying healthy and taking care of my body has been very helpful for my well-being.

Maria’s meal preps are based on organic fresh products. Fresh produce washed diced grilled or baked never frozen. I try my best to use gluten-free, non-GMO, organic products, low sodium, which I focus on with each meal.
What was your favorite childhood memory?
My favorite childhood memory is working at my parent’s restaurant with my family. Even though I use to be upset that I couldn’t be with my friends, during the summer, now that I am older, I appreciate and cherish the days we all as a family would work together. I would give anything to relive those moments.
