Hidden Gems: Meet Krista Treviño

Hi Krista, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
So it all started when I was working at a department store as customer service in 2019-2020 and prior to that in 2018, I was working as a beauty consultant. I loved people and meeting people and talking to people. I wanted to have a career and not just a job at department stores. I always knew I wanted to help and serve people in the world and in my community, with all types of people and all types of backgrounds, etc.

I decided I wanted to go to Cosmetology school in 2019 to be a makeup artist then learned that field required us to do other services like facials, waxing, etc. Which is called, Licensed Esthetician. I was a full-time student with a part-time job, moving from home to home, hotel to hotel. I hustled and prayed to God for this school choice to work out for us. I wanted and needed it so bad. I would Lyft to school and after school, I’d Lyft to work. I ended up graduating in 2020 and was a top student and got a golden student certificate and even taught a workshop for my class. In the last months of being in school and about to graduate, I would save my money for supplies and a spa bed.

I started pursuing my dream from my home with a little money. But my faith in God and myself really kept me motivated. As well as the support from my family, my boyfriend, my friends, my clients, my teacher, Mrs. April Lopez, the career services coordinator Mrs. Monica Urbina-Mann and the girls in my class had all encouraged me to not give up to the point where now I am in a suite and I am proud to say that my business has only grown since.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Yes, there were days when it was smooth. Yes, it was hard. The days that I feel that I struggled were the days that I was moving around to different places because we didn’t have a place to call our own. So, because of that, I didn’t have an official setup to pursue my dreams or gain clientele. I felt discouraged but I knew I had no choice but to keep pushing forward.

At the same time, the pandemic was going on and as much as it created another struggle, it created a hunger in me to go after what’s mine. I believe that whatever you set your mind to whether it’s your aspirations or goals, trust in God, never give up, and have patience and success will come your way.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about Cleanse By Kris?
I chose the name Cleanse by Kris because I’m cleansing not only your face but your aura and growing up my nickname has always been Kris and it makes me comfortable when clients and people call me by that name. I want everyone to be comfortable and be themselves and come in as they are. I am a skincare therapist, facialist, eyelash extension artist, and wax specialist. I specialize in all these services I named.

What sets me apart from others is definitely my personality and how much I educate my clients during treatment, after treatment, and how I give back. We’re all unique in our special ways as Estheticians. I’m proud that I get to change people’s confidence in their skin, educate them, and create a space for them to be themselves and relax. I always check in on them and create a friendship with everyone.

And every week, one day out of the week, I have a special going on so people can experience self-care in this way. All my services are reasonable and we use high-quality scientific products that encourage healthy skin and assure safety through sanitation in the environment.    I have visited Cleanse by Kris, and I was very happy with her eyelash extensions and wax, I can say I will make another to trip from Round Rock, Texas and get a facial and other serves that she does so well
