Today we’d like to introduce you to Inaky Strick
Hi Inaky, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
My journey in real estate has been deeply influenced by my passion for helping people and my love for building relationships. I was born in Mexico City and moved to The Woodlands, Texas when I was 12. Watching my mom build a successful career as one of Mexico City’s top nutritionists while raising my sister and me as a single parent was a huge source of inspiration for me. She taught me the value of hard work, resilience, and the importance of caring for others—qualities that I’ve carried into my career.
After graduating from the McCoy College of Business at Texas State University, I started my real estate career in Houston. I soon took a strategic opportunity to work in the Caribbean as a Business Development Manager for the first luxury-branded resort in Belize, which expanded my knowledge of off-shore real estate and connected me with influential figures like Gary Vaynerchuk. That experience, combined with my time as Director of Investor Relations for a private real estate investment firm, gave me a well-rounded foundation in development and luxury properties.
Returning to Texas, I began working with Kuper Sotheby’s International Realty and became one of the top-performing agents in the region. Now, as a Broker Associate and Negotiation Expert, I lead The Strick Group, a team of highly specialized real estate professionals. Together, we bring unparalleled expertise in luxury homes, new developments, VA home buying, custom homes, and second homes. We’re committed to making every transaction seamless, whether it’s a first-time homebuyer or a seasoned investor.
For me, real estate is about much more than buying and selling property. It’s about guiding clients through one of the biggest decisions of their lives and ensuring that we exceed their expectations at every turn. That’s why I’ve built systems and a strong support network around me to offer a truly exceptional experience. Whether it’s negotiating win-win deals or helping clients navigate complex real estate transactions, I take pride in being able to make a positive impact on people’s lives. Outside of real estate, I also love to travel, scuba dive, and snowboard, which helps keep me balanced and energized for the work I do.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
The road to success in real estate has definitely had its challenges. One of the biggest obstacles I faced early on was not having a mentor. Without someone to guide me through the complexities of the business, I had to learn a lot through trial and error. That experience made me realize how invaluable mentorship is in this industry. That’s why I now advise every new real estate agent to join a team or work as an assistant to a top performer. It’s the best way to learn the business, get into the deal flow faster, and gain the hands-on experience that’s crucial for success.
Another challenge was switching markets three different times. Each market has its own unique dynamics, so moving from Houston to the Caribbean and then to New Braunfels, TX required me to start over each time. When I moved to New Braunfels five years ago, I didn’t know a single person. That forced me to get out of my comfort zone and become an expert at networking. I attended every event, introduced myself to people, and built relationships from scratch. It wasn’t easy, but those connections became the foundation of my business here. I’ve learned that real estate is as much about people as it is about property, and building strong relationships is key to long-term success.
While those challenges were difficult, they also pushed me to grow. They taught me resilience, the value of networking, and the importance of having the right support system in place.
Great, so let’s talk business. Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I’m proud to be a part of Kuper Sotheby’s International Realty, a brand that represents the highest level of service and luxury in the real estate world. But what truly sets my business apart is the power of combining Kuper Sotheby’s International Realty with my dedicated team at The Strick Group. Together, we offer an unparalleled experience for clients, whether they’re buying or selling. Our focus is on providing a seamless, high-quality service that exceeds expectations at every step of the process.
The Strick Group is a full-service team of specialists, each bringing unique expertise to the table. Whether it’s luxury homes, new developments, VA home buyers, or custom homes, we have the right person to guide our clients through their specific needs. Having a full team allows us to offer personalized service, in-depth market knowledge, and a network of resources that smaller teams or individual agents just can’t match. I’m especially proud of the way we’ve built systems that make the buying and selling process smoother and more efficient, helping clients reach their goals faster.
Brand-wise, what I’m most proud of is our commitment to excellence. We’re known for being relationship-driven, and we don’t just focus on transactions; we focus on long-term success for our clients. Whether it’s a first-time buyer or a seasoned investor, we bring the same level of care and attention to every client. Our goal is to crush our clients’ goals and deliver an experience that’s second to none.
At the end of the day, I want readers to know that when they work with The Strick Group and Kuper Sotheby’s International Realty, they’re getting the very best in the business. Our team has the expertise, the network, and the dedication to make every real estate transaction a success.
We love surprises, fun facts and unexpected stories. Is there something you can share that might surprise us?
One thing that might surprise people who know me or my work is that I didn’t have a traditional start in real estate, nor did I have an immediate network to tap into when I moved to New Braunfels. When I relocated here five years ago, I didn’t know a single person. Despite that, I built my business from the ground up purely through networking, relationship-building, and hard work.
Another surprising fact is that my experience isn’t limited to Texas real estate. I’ve worked in the Caribbean and helped with marketing and sales in luxury resorts in Belize, which gave me an understanding of international markets and large-scale development projects. Those experiences taught me a lot about adaptability, creativity, and the importance of thinking outside the box—all things I apply to my work today.
People might also be surprised to know that outside of real estate, I’m an avid scuba diver and snowboarder. I think having those adventurous hobbies keeps me energized and reminds me to enjoy the ride, both in life and business.
