Today we’d like to introduce you to Grecia Valencia.
Hi Grecia, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstories with our readers?
I visited Costa Rica during the summer of 2019; I met a local bikini designer selling bikinis in a small shop, and I got to know her a bit. I fell in love with the idea of learning to make bikinis (why not a girl can never have too many bikinis). Fast forward, and the pandemic hit!
My day job in the dental field was becoming strenuous, and I needed an out. So while still working and seeing patients, I would come home after a long day and work on that idea I fell in love with in 2019. I started teaching myself how to sew (I had never used a sewing machine in my life). After lots of trial and error, I created my first wearable bikini! Then I knew I had it in me and was going for it.
In February of 2021, Grecia Swim was launched with three designs sold online. Things were going well, and as I was working on my following small collection Flying Solo a retail store located In SOHO, NY, contacted me in August of 2021 and allowed me to showcase my collection at their store.
As time passed, I gained the confidence I needed to present myself as a designer officially, so in March of 2022, my capsule, ” Texas Baby,” was launched in my first fashion show, “Rollin’ into Spring,” a show on skates. Today, Grecia Swim continues to offer that lux IT bikini.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way? Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Every day is different, but the one that stands out the most, in the beginning, was teaching myself to sew and remembering being eager to launch Grecia Swim while working a full-time job; my days were very long, and I did not see the result I wanted.
I genuinely thank the people around me for not allowing me to give up when damn well I knew I wanted to.

Grecia Swim is a swimwear brand emphasizing cheeky yet simple bikinis that highlight the wearer’s playful and flirty side.
We offer the IT bikini with a luxurious feel and provide a chic, effortless style that combines basics and the latest trends. Grecia Swim’s designs are world-inspired for the woman who loves a bikini with attitude.
What has been the most important lesson you’ve learned along your journey?
To take my time, and when things don’t feel right, trust that feeling is there for a reason.
