Today we’d like to introduce you to Garrett and Lexi Soto.
Hi Garrett and Lexi, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
In early 2022, I had the idea to start a soft/pressure washing business. My wife thought the idea was great and wanted to be a part of it. We quickly started to research what we would need to start our company. My wife joined a few Facebook groups about pressure washing so we could have a community to ask general questions if we needed to or see what equipment/chemicals other companies are using. We watched hours of informational videos to increase our knowledge and honed our skills by pressure washing friends and family’s houses. In May, my wife set up an LLC for our company, and shortly after, we got to business. My wife works in the real estate industry as a personal assistant for Marsha Kovar. Marsha has helped us out a lot with our business. She has recommended us to a few of her clients and other real estate agents, keeping us busy during the summer months. Now, we are focusing on business goal planning for 2023.
You wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle-free, but so far would you say the journey has been smooth?
With any business, there will always be some struggles along the way. My wife and I have had a few struggles here and there. One job, in particular, was difficult, from the start of the day to the end. Going into the job, we knew that our customer was very particular about how they wanted the job done. My wife wet the area, and I came behind her with our soft wash. During this time, we turn off the pressure washer so that the chemicals can be set for 5-10 minutes. After 5-10 minutes, I tried to start the pressure washer, but the pulley jammed, resulting in the chord slipping out of my hand, hitting my forearm, and breaking the pulley cover. After sitting there in pain for a minute, we went back to pressure wash the area. Unfortunately, the house builders did not prime the paint of the trim of the doorway, so when we peeled the protective tape off of the trim, the paint peeled up with it. My wife apologized to our customers, giving them three options. 1. We could call the builders, ask for the paint color, and then paint the trim ourselves, 2. Hire a painter, or 3. Compt the invoice. Even after the options we gave them. They were still dissatisfied. The customer chose option number 3 and seemed content with that choice. My wife and I want to make sure that our customers are happy and satisfied,
We’ve been impressed with G&L Soft Wash, but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
